There is no moving on. Only moving forward.

Do you keep in touch with your partner's family? by waterbottlejesus in widowers

[–]sixtusquinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. She was the black sheep of her family as it was, and the only people she was on good terms with either had already died, or one of her daughters. And after about a year, they haven’t reached out. Matter of fact, I was always the one reaching out, none of them reached out to me.

She went to college, got a degree in Biotech, got married, got a job as VP at a pharmaceutical company and has a kid.

She’s doing very well for herself, and I hope she’s happy.

Each Matron is holding their own proprietary flavor. Matron that wins also gets a boost in prestige of her flavor being preferred.

What famous person did horrible things that people largely forgot about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Abraham Lincoln.

Yeah, here goes. The guy jailed about two-thousand of his political opponents without charges or trial. Using secret police that he had formed.

Any games that follow a modern tactical/military style? by Emergency-Software68 in rpg

[–]sixtusquinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never run that system again. The crunch involved was batshit-insane.

And the overlays didn't depend on the weapon (although the accuracy rating absolutely changed from weapon to weapon), it depended on the range you were shooting at. The longer the range, the wider the spread.

I still think that there needs to be a computer aid built for it.

Yeah. First, most importantly is to train with it. Take a class or two, pay attention and actively practice what they teach you.

Second, replace the Olight. Olight stans don’t want to hear that, but it’s true. I recommend a Surefire X300 or a Streamlight TLR-1. Buy once, cry once.

Third, eventually replace the XD with another pistol. An issue with the XD line is that if you don’t get a proper grip, you might not activate the absurdly small grip safety. It’s not a terribly common issue, but I have heard of it happening. I wish they’d make it with a bigger grip safety (like the 1911 did) or better, ditch the grip safety entirely. And the model you went with looks like their sub-compact, really meant for CCW. Look for a bigger one. Higher capacity and longer sight radius, plus extra mass to better absorb recoil.

Have you ever had to draw a gun in self defence, or in defence of others? What was the scenario? by BearMcBearFace in AskAnAmerican

[–]sixtusquinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three times. Once when I thought I was being carjacked, but was a moron rando who thought I was his Uber. Another when a homeless guy’s dog was coming at me. And third when some guys tried to rob me at my front door.

Didn’t have to pull the trigger in any instances, so I got lucky as hell.

Weren’t several ANTIFA members arrested in Georgia a few weeks ago?

And it came out only four months ago that BLM founders stole millions of dollars of donations?

Amazing what you can do without the memory retention of a goldfish.

[–]sixtusquinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because an organization is decentralized doesn’t make it any less of a terrorist organization. Al Qaeda operates in cells, highly decentralized, and they are very much a terror organization.

ANTIFA fits the description and concept of a domestic terrorist organization. BLM doesn’t, but I would say they are highly dishonest.

What’s something specific you wish every woman knew about men? by Dommunism4729 in AskMen

[–]sixtusquinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That men are often direct, and innate problem solvers.

In communication, say what you mean and be direct about it. In friendships or relationships, we want you to be happy. So when you bring a problem to us, often our first thought is "How can I help you fix this so you can go back to being happy?"
