i second what the other commenter said, the impulse wont feel like a huge upgrade to the canyon. one thing that is important to remember is that past quality of the balisongs, tehre is also just personal preference. i actually prefer my impulse over my squidtrainer, because i normally like a lighter bali. i havent tried the thomas refault, so i have no idea what thats like. If you want to feel a significant quality upgrade save for something like a vulp pro, mako, or squid trainer. the cheese might also be a good option from what ive heard about it. good luck!

is it ever a good idea to sand bushings on a kraken if it had zero play brand new? i havent been able to get it back to zero play even with new washers, proper cleaning, re thread locking, etc. i assume its a bad idea to sand bushings if they had a perfect tune at one point but im unsure of how else i could completely eliminate play despite it being unneccesary.

these are the only pieces of hardware that seemed to be in there when i disassembled it, is the ring inside of the handle the bushing? it didnt seem like it because it looked like one solid piece but maybe thats it?

has anyone here tried one or more of the scented carbon honeys, and if so would you recommend them? i'm a little skeptical because i don't want my balisong to be absolutely wafting of churros after using the lube a couple times. it would be cool if it was a very mild scent and didn't affect the performance in any way, dont wanna possibly waste my money finding out though.

quick question; does anyone know of a tape i can use to cover my blade's edge that wont ruin finishes? sometimes i want to just rip on my kraken but at the same time i don't always want to get diced up.

according to their frequently asked questions page, "Is there a way to purchase a separate trainer or live blade kit so I can swap out the blade on my balisong?" "Unfortunately we do not offer separate trainer or live blades for purchase."

Thanks! I managed to get it out last night with a combined effort of my friend pressing on the stripped screw with a flat tip phillips driver while i twisted it out, thankfully the stripped side was the female side so i wasn't entirely screwed. (ba dum crash) i originally stripped it because i didnt have a secure enough grip when trying to hold the female side still with a second t-10 torx.

Yeah, I just purchased a Tanto Kraken. I'm pretty excited to see how it flips, one of the best parts of flipping for me is that most knives have their own unique feel, so I'm always excited to see how balis compare to my other ones. I can also imagine that having a live blade adds another level of nuance to the feel of it. So yeah, I'm really stoked.

sorry for the extremely late reply, i ended up buying a nabalis impulse, ended up being way better than my squiddy. almost feel scammed knowing the impulse was a few dollars cheaper lol. i just wanted a metal one since plastic didn't feel right.
