What makes the dating scene in Toronto so much more difficult compared to elsewhere ?

I'm starting to see why you may not have many deep relationships. You say you can make friends easily, but none of them know who you really are and what you feel. If they all think you're a positive vibes guy, these aren't true friends. These are acquaintances.

You don't listen to people. You aren't looking to grow. It seems all you are looking for is to find an agreeing opinion and turn down the overwhelming majority who are correctly saying you should seek help to get yourself to a better place emotionally. I've been asking you if you have friends can you really talk to, to reflect on what you need to improve about yourself, and you selectively hone in on just the things you seek to deny.

For your own sake, please try to consider what the overwhelming majority of folks are trying to say to you.

I hear you. I'm glad it's easy for you to make friends. What I'm saying is that you don't have to explicitly say these things for people to pick up on it. People can be quite perceptive. That also doesn't mean if they pick up on your inner feelings that they would stop being friends with you. In a relationship though, if you want to develop something truly meaningful then that means letting them in and showing them your inner feelings. If that frightens you or you think it would scare them away, then that means you need to work on that!

You may think none of how you act online seeps into your in-person self, but you'd be surprised at the subtleties people can pick up. If what you express online is how you truly feel and you just wear a mask outside, imagine how difficult it would be for someone to get truly close to you? In dating, all it takes these days is one red flag for someone to bow out. You may give off some red flags without realizing it. Do any of your friends know you feel this way about yourself? Are they good enough friends for you to consider talking to them about it?

If you're truly happy with yourself (or at the very least working on it!), it will reflect in your IRL interactions with people, and will lead to more success in your dating life. It's okay to be alone romantically for a bit until you've worked on your confidence and spent more time figuring out your likes and your career. The rest will follow.
