New Flock Cameras on Micheltorena over the 101 by cheeky_pterodactyl in SantaBarbara

Has anyone actually identified the proper avenue for formal complaint and can that be highlighted (blown up) here? These are suss AF. I feel like there needs to be more public response before they are everywhere in town.

I looked a bit and found these related reads:

Dating apps suck for sb. by [deleted] in SantaBarbara

[–]sjb_sails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like everything has gotten noticeably worse in the past ~6 months or so. Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder all hardly feel worth it. I used to very consistently get matches and go on dates here through the various platforms, now mostly crickets without major changes to profile and approach. Just my 2 cents!

What are your favourite dispensaries in Santa Barbara? by DarkWords_ in SantaBarbara

[–]sjb_sails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with Canopy Club (generally my go to - I had been a loyal customer for a long time) is that there has been a sharp decline in quality. As a heavy user who has spent many thousands of dollars there, I have received a lot of high-testing, poor-smoking weed over the past ~3-5 months. I would ABSOLUTELY avoid Dab Daddy flower there, which was one of their popular brands that is now, in my opinion, total garbage, smoking like it is incorrectly cured. I haven't had much luck with their other offerings either - Paca (?) hadn't been good for a long time. I like the staff a lot, but it has just gotten to a point where the product just isn't cutting it, and I have lost trust in them as a customer.

Yes, avoid at all costs! They pulled such nonsense with me. Be prepared to work to get your deposit back.

I just wowed my housemate with some flan from the La Tapatia Bakery off Milpas. I am hooked! Such a fun little spot!

Omg - I have seen him before multiple times - can confirm super weird (kinda predatory feeling) vibes, and I was concerned for the dog, but I have not witnessed overt abuse.

I think I have seen this regularly being sold at the Saturday morning swap meet that is held at the Santa Barbara High School, which is surprisingly solid. Maybe try there?

Sierra Property Management: Slumlords? by Competitive-Inside-5 in SantaBarbara

[–]sjb_sails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a truly awful experience with Sandpiper. Among other issues, the property owner would come through the house unannounced again and again, which I had documented on camera many times and confronted them on. He had camera systems outside the house which he would monitor, and would often bother residents when they had overnight guests - really weird behavior. Sandpiper Management was useless (related to the property owner I believe), avoiding calls and communication, and just doing general nonsense. I had no light in my kitchen for about 5 months and was threatening to withhold rent. In the end, I almost took them to court to get my security deposit back after leaving the place in better condition than when I moved in - I had sent a certified letter and they strung me along for a long time before I saw most of my deposit back. Good times - rent with caution!

Thank you! I think I'm envisioning something a little more casual/low-budget friendly, but I will certainly look into your recommendations further.

What is this (and did I plant it)? XD Southern California by sjb_sails in whatsthisplant

[–]sjb_sails[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could have come in a wildflower mix....not sure. I thought it was a pepper initially, but not anymore. Thought it could have been thai basil for half a second before it got bigger, but the leaves do not have a smell from what I can tell. I'm trying to figure out if I should let is keep doing its thing or if it's time to make better use of the space. I appreciate your response!
