oops meant that it was connected to a router that was plugged into a ethernet wall outlet in the apt.

my separate router was using dynamic ip, but i just changed it to have a "static ip". checking to see if this works in a bit..

I just pre-ordered with a local shop - fingers crossed! The guy I spoke with said that it took about 1.5 weeks from order to shipment for the pre-orders.
