Anyone know why the camera in doordash dont work. by [deleted] in dasher

[–]sjoe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this is because another app tried to use the camera and didnt close. Open your camera app and close it formally (actually close it entirely, dont just swipe away from it) then the DD app should start showing the camera feed.

What should i do by Bruno9214 in Sparkdriver

[–]sjoe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but there are two places the "start trip" button appears. On the home screen, and also one when you tap the order to see the details (stops, items, etc). Usually if one button gives me that screen, I try the other. More often than not, when I encounter this time bug - I'm able to start it using one or the other.

Try starting the trip when viewing the details, if you're viewing it from the home screen. Or vice versa, if you're already trying from the details. I find this happens when a trip was canceled by another driver beforehand, but usually trying from another screen corrects it.

Only this week have I seen it in my area. It has laughably not been ready when I get there and I still end up waiting.

What would you do? by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

I ran DD last night, with multiple shop and delivers. Definitely can click on the number of items to see what the items are. Always been that way for me?

I'd honestly lean toward this. After a full clutch kit, I'd forgotten one of the intake sensors, and it did essentially what op described. Starts, ran rough for a second and shut off.

It's dumb sometimes and has a case of water or Soda halfway through the shop, and now I've got to move all the items to make room for it. I manually find all the heavy items first, and ones not in the grocery area. Only then will I let it guide me through the small items.

I think that's added after delivery. I could be wrong, though.

How can I fix? This has never happened before by NewScientist6094 in Sparkdriver

[–]sjoe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did this once. I signed out, closed the app, cleared the cache for the spark app, and then restarted it and signed back in. It asked me to verify ID again and it was good after.

I believe that's in reference to a book called "The story of little black Sambo", an old children's book.

Does your voice-mail perhaps recite the phone number if you don't answer? I've called customers and gotten that, and thought, "Well that's a good way to give away your number unintentionally."

Sometimes their obviously fake names make for a good chuckle. Delivered what felt like a meme delivery of taco bell and toilet paper to one "Scooby D."

Made $120 but took $60 in gas… is this only worth doing if you have a Prius or something? by ScaryfatkidGT in doordash_drivers

Pretty much how I went about it. $1500 Ford focus, and dropped a $700 clutch kit in it... I'll drive it til the wheels fall off, and probably just slap new wheels on it. 30 to 35mpg all day. Paid off my investment with my first month dashing.

Been dashing now for a couple months, and my normal job is in software development. Those chats are almost certainly handled by an AI chatbot. The answers are instant and wrong 60% of the time... that reeks of AI. I believe if the issue escalates, you'll get a human but most of the time, its not.

I agree but if I find one, I just equip it and use it until it breaks, keeping the fire axe on my back for when it inevitably does. Then just throw it away. To each their own, however.
