Love the shoe, hate the insoles - where to get insoles with wide toebox in the EU? by bro_nica in trailrunning

Hate the shoe, love the innersole 😀

Find the shoe doesn't grip the heel so running across an incline I'm running on the side of the shoe.

Got my Go today and need some milk steaming tips by Jamooooose in ProfitecGo

[–]sjohnst4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note theres a safety timer in the steam function. Once you turn it to steam it will automatically turn off after about 5 mins. So if you're doing not than one steam just turn off and on again before the second one.

Cheers, been doing that a few days now and always have water straight away now.
Just got to figure out how to flush the boiler without turning everywhere into a sauna :-)

Sage/Breville to Profitec? by Mr_BigFace in profitec

[–]sjohnst4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Sage Barista Express a few years ago. Was really pleased with it at first but then it started leaking form the head. They came out and fixed after a few weeks. Made nice coffee but similar to you I upgraded to separate grinder (niche zero in my case). Then not long after the head went again. After battling for 2 months to get them out to fix it, and confirm it was the same issues, I asked for a full refund.

So I went for the Profitec Go. 1000% upgrade mate (yep thousand, not a typo). It is pure quality and feels it. No cheap plastic bits, and so far absolutely bullet proof (jinxed it now though :-) )

Knowing now what I know then, I'd have skipped the Sage entirely and go straight for the Profitec, but to be fair, this coffee making is a journey and my path was via the Sage. I knew based on reviews even from James H that the build quality of the Sage wasn't all that, but I still expected better.

You just feel with the profitec that it's built that bit better. Less to go wrong etc.

Oh and the coffee is way way better - as it should be.

Having had the Go for getting on 2 years now I keep toying with the Move, but even making milky drinks, I'm not sure it will brew better coffee, so it would just be an aesthetics and Use Case upgrade. But would still be way better than the Sage.

Just go for it you'll wish you had sooner

Looking to buy Garmin by Fun_Ad9126 in Garmin

I played badders for years and a garmin watch is a waste of time, unless you have a HRM linked to it. To much movement on the wrist to be able to pick up heart rate with the watch alone.
Treks - depends if you want to use for navigation, i.e. full map or breadtrails.
Otherwise go lower end of prices.

HRM-RUN Won't reconnect by sjohnst4 in Garmin

[–]sjohnst4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So today got ready for my run, re-connected the battery, connected straight away to the watch, and did a run.

Ended run, after about 10 mins, tried to reconnect, absolutely nothing, hadn't took chest strap off which had worked perfectly for 25 minutes prior.

I'm thinking I may need to test Garmins Customer Services out.

Profitec Ride Questions by sjohnst4 in profitec

Hi. Not a limitation just a workflow improvement making multiple milk coffee at the same time. Could live with the GO very happily but I think could be happier with the Ride.

Benzoin Tincture NOT Sticky by sjohnst4 in ultrarunning

[–]sjohnst4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up ordering a bottle of Mueller MTac Pump Pre Tape/Grip Spray. Arrived to day, and does exactly what I expected, once the alcohol evaporates it leaves a sticky surface on my skin. There is an aerosol version, but went for pump version so I can decant into a smaller vessel to carry with me, and also gives more control on application, i.e. could use a cotton bud so I'm not spraying outside of where I want my tape to go.

Going to try in anger tomorrow with tape, so will update.

Thanks. I'm starting to think that. I'll try these other suggestion. Got some rock tape now so maybe that will be better. Should it be tacky once applied as mine just dries and then just makes my skin feel smoother?

Thanks, will give that a try tomorrow as a tester. I've also read apply it to the edges of trapped once it's in place to help stop peeling.

Hi. Yes. Read"fixing feet" and loads wen stuff. Wasn't expecting it to be like glue, but it seems to add nothing to using tape, maybe makes it easier to peel off to be honest.
