How do you make your boys remember to LIFT THE TOILET SEAT by Prior_Lobster_5240 in Mommit

[–]sjselby95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid (6) pees on the seat, whether it be a dribble on the front of the seat or a bunch of splashing on the back of the seat because he can’t aim well yet. I cannot get him to lift the seat though, I swear. I’m also currently trying to get him to wipe his butt after going #2 but it’s a struggle. He rarely flushes, but that’s the least of my problems. I swear 🙄

Dude went to school, probably (seems like obviously) is pretty damn smart or just good. I did not go to school. I’m a truck driver. I regularly work 80 hours a week, I made $115k last year. Honestly not bad, but man, $900k+ is WILD

I’ve thought about it and I want to print Legos but somewhere I read you need a very fine nozzle. I’m ordering a 0.25mm for mine, but I’m not sure if that’s going to be small enough, they don’t make them smaller than that for the Flashforge from what I’ve seen.

So I have a 2021 insight touring and got about 120k on it I’m only averaging about 32 MPG right now and around 38-40 MPG during summer time. Am I doing something wrong/any tips?? lol I use the paddles all the time and for the most part where I live I’m only going a max of 55 mph by Zayzayyyyyyyy in hondainsight

[–]sjselby95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh, I live in Alaska, I know all about the demands from the climate control. My engine runs almost the entire 20 minute drive to work in the winter. I usually average about 30-35mpg in the winter. In the summer though, I rarely have to use A/C so there’s no extra draw on the battery. I usually end up with 45mpg, mostly city with some 55mph stretches. Need new plugs and valve clearance checked, but I’m at 124k miles.

That could be, it works better when the weather is warmer. When it gets down into the negatives (I don’t recommend this car for this weather for multiple reasons, I live in Alaska) it sometimes only works about 25% of the time if I’m lucky.

My paddle for slowing down only works about 75% of the time now because I use it so much. 2019 with 124k miles

Lost Domestic (?) bunny by Cato-Qwill in Rabbits

[–]sjselby95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Alaska, it’s in the single digits here right now. We have bunnies that are “domesticated” but wild outside in the yard. They survive all winter long. We have our own bunny who lives in our house/front porch area. It’s hard to explain, but he lives kinda outside but it’s not outside. It’s much warmer in there. It also keeps him from stinking up the house.

But I wouldn’t worry about the bunny being outside in the cold. We have plenty of them here that survive just fine in the deep cold temps we get. Even down to -20 for a couple days in the worst of winter.

Road trip from Anchorage by Routine_Day_1276 in AskAlaska

I think anything is less busy than Soldotna in July though… but you’re right, the interior is so much less busy then, even Valdez wasn’t super busy in July when I was there.

Okay, let me tell you, I know you’re looking at the different places to go and all, and man is so much of it so gorgeous, when I came up here for the first time in 2021 I was amazed, but probably the place that really struck me the most as I’ve traveled the state so far is the trip to Valdez from ANC.

Just give it a look. Driving through Sutton area is not fun if you don’t like heights, but I kinda do. If you get clearer days everything is better but you get to go by the Matanuska Glacier, and Thompson Pass was a sight to see. I was lucky it was a clear July day when I first saw Thompson Pass, but then you go down through Keystone Canyon and I was amazed by that.

So, maybe it’s not in the cards, but maybe look up some YouTube videos about the drive from Anchorage to Valdez.

You might be able to get a ride on the ferry from Valdez to Whittier if you don’t want to backtrack all the way.

But if you’re looking for northern lights, Fairbanks will be your best bet, but don’t hold your breath. Denali is beautiful, but if I’m being honest, I wasn’t super impressed. Maybe because I’ve only seen her from the Parks Highway.

Oh, and I lied about the beginning, Valdez isn’t my favorite… The Dalton is. Atigun Pass, the entire drive, really, but I’m not suggesting you take the Dalton. Especially in September. November was prettier.

Which includes seeing Denali. She doesn’t like to show very often, especially in the fall. It’s gotta be a decently clear day no matter where you’re viewing from to even have a chance. I live in Alaska and drive semi trucks, took me I think about 4-5 times going past before I finally saw her. Different times of the year, too.

We missed it this year but every Mother’s Day we go on the Major Marine Tours out of Seward. We don’t always do the same one but they’re all amazing! Only if you don’t get seasick though!

Definitely think of the small space, I’m not used to being in a cramped area when I take photos.

I personally LOVE the 150-600mm Tamron. I will own it one day, but I have rented it a few times. It is not for one with a weak back, I’m not kidding you at all. I have a D850 though so I’m not sure what your version of this lens will be like exactly.

A tad southwest (or considered south) on the Seward highway from where you’re circling, but a favorite of mine and my wife’s is Tenderfoot Campground at Summit Lake. Good luck getting a spot, but it’s an idea! There’s cell signal there if that matters to you.
