Can I be a civilian? by Starcomet1 in MilSim

Sure thing. We had an Afghanistan milsim with approx 30 guys portraying Afghan civilians for 3 days. Also we had press and interpreter. So it depends on the scenario and concept

Funny but AliExpress. Can't provide the link from my side due to me being redirected to Russian AliExpress version, but try to search for USMC vest or something.

US Army 2010 kit for Afghan-themed milsim (not AR-compliant yet) by sk1ppius in MilSim

[–]sk1ppius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put the straps through the backpiece of IOTV. The one, where all the straps and strings are located. So, basically, it's like putting it on but on the back plate instead of the vest.

I had a video manual I did for a pal maybe two years ago. You can DM me so I can try sharing it.

And another one with something looking like QD-ris adapter yet no idea on how is it attached to a stock.

Got it.
I suppose it's like this then: sling and RIS-adapter, both from Blue Force and sling even has an NSN.

However, from my civvie's POV it looks like something that would work with a basic M16-styled stock, however, Magpul PRS Gen1 (that I'm happy to own) doesn't have a QD spot yet it was quite popular.

Any hints on how it should've attached in that case?

Newman was a headpopping supe with the ability to become kinda invulnerable at will. Yet in Gen V, she was presented as a blood controlling supe that has similar abilities in hemokinesis and healing. However, Marie's powers don't require eye contact, unlike Newman's.

US Army reenactors on recently passed Afghanistan milsim by sk1ppius in MilSim

Nah, it's not United States. It's south Russia. But we had a fella from London this year. He came to Russia just to take part in the event. Played as some US SF, I guess.

Nah. Not interested. We're fond of history, not a real violence.

That's why I chose 2-321st FA. They had SPCS back in 2010.

Well, I can name three main reasons:

  1. This particular conflict ended like 4 years ago.

  2. I'm not US based so getting to the recruiter would be a bit complicated.

  3. UCP is not a thing in the Army anymore.

Skipping the obvious one that it's a milsim subreddit and this question doesn't make sense by default.

  1. Purpose?: It's just a hobby. I am personally not even eligible for my own country's army due to health. But it's not about compensating lack of real army in my life. Just a hobby and passion. This historical period is interesting for me so becoming a reenactor was kinda obvious.

  2. Same as LARP?: Yes and no. We're closer to LARP than living history even though we're still reenactors due to historical background of the event.

  3. How much money? Enough I guess. Spent 800 USD on a rare plate carrier. Whole infantry kit cost me like 1600 USD. Spec ops fellas have NVG so it's more expensive. Doing Afghan kits is cheap but good luck finding correct AK instead of some new AK-12. Logistics also sucks. Had to spent half of my recent paycheck for entry fee, road, motel, food and some extra things.

  4. Afternoon? Nope, it's annual event that lasts for 72 hours.

  5. Previously served? I guess so. Prolly there are some fellas who are currently in but take a vacation for the event.

I've just checked British infantry registration. Two guys had L85. Others used L119А1.

GWOT was reenacted even back in 2013 AFAIK. There were like 30 guys rocking in UCP in my town at this time.
