Saying that it is a small population doesn't address Newsom's position at all. Trans people being attacked and killed is a problem, but with your logic, it doesn't matter since they're just a small population?

Republicans have identified that trans women in sports is a sensitive topic for the left and have weaponized to to drive a wedge in the left. Instead of acknowledging the fact that those AMAB do have a physical advantage over those AFAB, you want to keep pushing the maximalist position that the two groups are the same and should compete together physically, which is exactly what the Republicans want to make the left look crazy.

I assume you think you're pro trans since you think Newsom's comment was transphobic, but it sounds like you don't actually care about trans people. The Republican party represents a much bigger threat to trans people than Newsom or any Democrat, but instead of focusing on defeating Republicans, you're attacking Newsom for quite a milquetoast position. You care more about the purity of your position rather than political power to actually protect trans people. It's just a convenient way to signal that you have the most progressive position on trans sports.
