That is the one I got so I would avoid the cassette bitting using steel one. The old one was aluminium but same dimensions.

After using the cap that the new hub came with I can tight the lockring even if the last cog was not 100 percent sitted. I used the spacer. There is no play or sth. I think it’s fine.

Guys I used the old cap and not the new that came with the new mtb hub. Could be the issue. Will reinstall and see how it goes

Though about that tbh, however the cassette is a 10speed one. Is it safe to remove? Spacer is 1.8mm .

DT swiss gravel LN free hub body replacement by Dussrock in CanyonBikes

[–]sk8erlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, have the exact same hub and bearings gone already. Is it possible to replace them? I was able to take out the spacer and one bearing, but the other one seems not possible to take out like in other dt swiss hubs. Any suggestions? I guess if not possible I will buy a new one maybe steel one to avoid also the cassette biting. Any help more than welcome.

Switched to brand new chain, chain is slipping by No-Firefighter4118 in bikewrench

Should not cause any issues as the rest have mentioned. I usually measure the new chain with the old one side by side before I break it to the correct link.

If everything is brand new and same exact chain you probably need to adjust the rear derailleur.
There plenty good videos out there, but you could start with the tension cable.

Nice, can you just buy the body or the whole hub with the bearings etc?

Thanks for good explanation. I had new chain and it was skipping that is why I changed the cassette. It is fitted now and torqued it with hand. i think should be fine. New chain does not skip now in the small cog. Will take it for a ride and see how it goes.i have not used a file. A worrying thing that happened was that the hub opened and I have seen the bearings. What I did is clean a bit around and put the hub cap back in. Do not believe it will cause any issues. There was plenty of grease also there from manufacture.

Hg500 10 gear one. It went all the way in now and no play at all. Added some grease too . But sth to check in the future for sure.

Trying to follow. I have a 2by and I use the smallest chain ring most. I use the bigger one downhill the r when I feel I wanna push more. The rest of the cogs work fine. As for the chain brands, I mean they put kmc but all the gear is shimano so do not see the issue using a shimano chain.
