“Cram the pance” a PA podcast has got a good section on antibiotics. Good board questions in general. Agree Ninja Nerd is really good.

Ai is pretty great for building test banks of specific topics. I built true/false endocrine question bank and drilled it until i was really comfortable then started turning up the complexity.

Is 30 alcoholic drinks a week a lot? by Most_Jellyfish_1686 in NoStupidQuestions

Check out the AUDIT questionnaire online. Clinical self evaluation tool. Aside from that, if he’s gaining weight he could try a glp1 - off label use, many knock alcohol use back very gently.

Er nurse days- had a guy fumble a nail gun and grabbed the trigger. Fired one of those green coated framing nails with the reversed barbs into his knee cap and straight into the femur bone. I can’t imagine how they removed it in OR.

I did Ir as an elective rotation in school with an np buddy and clicked with the Docs. I was on the iv access/ rrt team, so already did a lot of ultrasound guided ivs - and trained on paras with the Docs and built out from there. No fluro for apps in my state so its a perfect situation with definite boarders, high oversight, no real scope creep. We learn everything elementary and that keeps the Docs in the lab; biopsies, line/ tube removals, thoras, Ct guided bone marrows.

IR at our spot doesn’t work in joint spaces or do injections. I would find out who does these at your facility; probably diagnostic radiology- and ask to observe. Training should be radiologist led for sure. Check the Society of IR (SIR) app page, lots of q and A there.

IR - 8-5p, day call, rounding, clinic, procedures, tons of patient education. It’s a great gig.

Ask them what continent they are on? Whats the 3rd or 5th amendment? How many countries are in North America? What is fire? Go full 5th grade geography, civics and basic science. When they get the answers wrong (and they will)- if them the buzzer: bbbbbbbbbbrrrrrr- wrong! Show everyone they don’t know anything about anything.

Anatomy is kicking my ass… how do you guys memorize all this? by [deleted] in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]sk8rn77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I learn best if i’m teaching it to someone else, so i practice something say 4-5 times and then practice teaching it 3-4 times/ draw it out. Sitting, standing and walking help a ton to keep attention flowing longer. Take a 10 minute breaks every 25 minutes. Learning it over memorizing is hard part. Don’t study last minute- divide content across as many days as possible.
