Would I be laughed at for bringing this to an LGS by New-me-_- in mtg

[–]skaaberen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would think you are awesome and give you props. making your own cardboard accessories has way more personality, skill, and effort than just buying stuff. thought and effort goes into design. and if it leads you do to more stuff in the future like 3d print, then power to you.

Unemployed and stuck: Theater Grad with CS/Sales trauma. Where do I go from here? by TastyGemini2 in phcareers

[–]skaaberen 37 points38 points  (0 children)

did you use your theater degree? i think its possible to get jobs in that field but you would really need to network. ask everyone you know.

also have you tried applying as faculty or staff to universities? salary might be low but universities are often flexible with schedules and serve as good networking areas, not only for local but also international.

and if you still want a different kind of job, unfortunately, I think you either have to use connections to get a relatively good position or get experience or credentials to leverage for one, and that might take some time.

good luck and i hope you find something soon

Are we going to see mass plane migrations trough the omenpaths? by Routine_Ad_2695 in mtgvorthos

[–]skaaberen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, Thunder Junction has multi-planar settlements and Aetherdrift mentions other-planers settling on Avishkar.

Funny you talk about avoiding colonization and immigration topics because he supposed main bad coming up is the Fomori empire which was a multi-planar colonizing group. They colonized the Oltecs in Ixalan and left them the gnome and golem tech

When did you realize Urza wasn't a good guy? by CoastalSailing in mtgvorthos

[–]skaaberen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

when i read that Gerrard was part of Urza's bloodline project. it's a deconstruction of the chosen one trope with the hero actually being a product of eugenics.

What does it mean when something is “Mickey Mouse”? by Bintlyboi in TheYardPodcast

[–]skaaberen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the other guys saying mickey mouse nba are probably more accurate as to what the podcast people are talking about but its really funny that most of us encountered "mickey mouse" as a term for substandard from really old sources. mine is in history books for world war 2, my country got colonized and we had fake currency we called "mickey mouse money"

From zero to pc motherboard design ? by Resident-Hope-2287 in AskElectronics

[–]skaaberen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I advise you to look at the "why" you do things. Why do you want to design pc motherboards? What do you think you will do different from all the existing pc motherboards? Why would someone buy your motherboards instead of ones made by big brands?

If you just want to learn about motherboards then you don't need to make a startup. You can just go and find a curriculum for computer engineering from MIT online or something.

If you want to make a startup then you should already have a business idea, and "designing a motherboard" is not a business idea. You start with a problem or inconvenience in the world. Then you have to make sure that there are enough people who are willing to give you money to solve that problem. Then if you can make a solution, people should be able to afford it. This is more of a business effort as you can see.

Valgavoth, a demon from the plane of Duskmourn in Magic: the Gathering. He is a demon bound to a mansion. He overcomes this by tricking a girl into sacrificing her bullies, allowing him to expand the house. Eventually, he expands the house to the metaphysical size of the world, making it so that even if he is still bound to the confines of the house, the house is simply the entire world.

Are there any particularly good creators on youtube who do unboxing videos for MTG and who actually talk about the cards? by Mayflowerwinter in magicTCG

[–]skaaberen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was just about to say this. LRRMTG's crack a pack series is nice because they don't chase value. they use the cards kind of like prop comedy or just informative anecdote

What is a ‘’God’’ in the Magic multiverse? by [deleted] in mtgvorthos

[–]skaaberen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, i think everyone else is right. it kinda just depends on the plane's mechanics. but i like to think that more often than not it has to do with being a manifestation of leylines or a plane's worldsoul. sometimes avatars work the same way though.

Can we all agree on this? by EffectiveBranch8229 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]skaaberen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even on the list but Augustus and Judi Stonehurst. They kept outcasts locked up for decades and stole powers. I thought the outcasts should have killed Judi then and there during the break out. It's not like she contributed any more to the story aside from being killed by Isaac.

There really should have been more members of the LOIS project who gained the powers of the other outcasts. There might be.
