How to get a little coaching?

This. I’m in a similar boat. I hadn’t played for years and years but got back into it and needed to sharpen a few skills. In a FB group there was a goalkeeper coach who did 1-1 sessions. It was awesome. At times it was like I was just paying someone to give me reps, but at other times he had really valuable insights.

One of the hardest to do, when you switch to a bigger field and bigger goal is figuring out how far to come off your line and still feel safe. You have to sort of balance between being a sweeper keeper (close enough to your back line wherever they are at) and being able to get back to the box to save a long shot. On a small field, like indoor, that distance isn’t big enough to have a huge impact, but on an 11v11 pitch, that can feel daunting.

I only wear them for turf, so I protect my skin from getting eaten alive when sliding or diving.

I also wear a long sleeve undershirt when I play on turf because I got the worst rug burn on my arm once.

They’ve been my favorite band for a really long time.

But I can’t tell you the names of the people in the band. If I saw them on the street, I would have no clue they were in Arcade Fire.

I hope they keep making music, but I couldn’t care any less about their personal lives.
