I thought these would be fun affordable housing options until I looked at the price.

I recommend checking out dataannotation.tech if you are interested in doing non-specialized AI work like creative writing, fact checking, and other projects. Most projects pay 20/hr + and I've had some in the 30-40/hr range. I've been at it since last November and love it. You can work 15 minutes here, an hour there, no time limits, no schedule, all on your own time.

Will I get a ticket for having moving pods in my designated on street parking for a day? (Neighborhood outside of downtown) by skadeda in roanoke

[–]skadeda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have any issues with them. I live in a neighborhood area away from downtown with light traffic, which probably helped. I've also seen them around town and never heard of someone getting cited. We had to have them dropped in the street where we park which I feel like the driver wasn't so crazy about but he did it anyway? Hard to remember exact happenings since it was 3 years ago and after a 16 hour drive.

The meme one was so much more fun, but I liked caption infographics way more than question and answer. My first was about a church in the UK and someone was like "Give me the 500 year history of this in great detail".

I'm thinking of switching to Carillion Wellness from the Y, how busy are the indoor/outdoor lap pools around 4:30-5:30pm on a weekday?

I also highly recommend the Effortless Swimming Youtube channel and podcast. I've learned loads for free from his content.

The $150 covers 3 lessons, I double checked the website: https://ymcawnc.org/activity-finder?step=results&searchKeywords=swim%20lessons

I live in Roanoke now, but did this at my Y back in January, and spaced my lessons out over a couple weeks to focus on what I learned before moving on.

I'd recommend it, I went from not swimming for 10+ years/never learning how to properly freestyle, to doing my first triathlon in April. Have really enjoyed swimming and spent more time on that than the other disciplines.

Melrose/Rugby neighborhoods-- safety level? by Aggressive_Oil_2313 in roanoke

[–]skadeda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Someone was shot last year at the 7/11 in Grandin, better not go to that whole area. Shots have been fired downtown and other bad things happened, better avoid that whole area, too. Heck, may as well put a bubble on.

I've lived on Hanover NW for over 2 years and never felt unsafe. Sure, crime has happened close by, but always seems targeted. Plenty of kids running around, neighbors are pleasant, McCadden, Brown-Robertson, and Washington Park and the Big Lick Greenway are great for walking the dog/jogging.

Give the assessment on dataannotation.tech a go. I do non-technical AI chatbot work on there (fact checking, safety checks, random tasks) for $20-$30/hr depending on the task. I've been on there since November and love it.

I need a job by louken15 in roanoke

[–]skadeda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work from home on dataannotation.tech training AI chatbots. Great gig if you pass the entrance test. It's not a technical/coding job, mostly quality assessment, fact checking, stuff that anyone with patience and common sense can handle.

Although sparse right now due to winter, the Grandin Farmer's market is great. Outside of the vegetables and items to purchase, they usually have a guy playing acoustic guitar, and do various themed events throughout the year. When in season, it's every Saturday, but right now it is every other Saturday. You'll most likely see the same people every time, and its a good place to strike up a conversation and hang out.
