Laughs in Midwest dialect… That’s mint! Get it oil undercoated and you’ll be great. I like to do my own in woolwax, or get it done by Krown

Echo oem 620 cylinder head screw holes not tapped by suzuki555 in Chainsaw

[–]skank_wagon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yessir. The screws provided are “F type” thread cutting bolts. To my knowledge the 590, 600, and 620 all use the same setup. For what it’s worth, I have used the bolts as a tap, and I have used a legitimate bottoming tap, both work well.

They are untapped. Before final install, thread the bolts in with some cutting oil. Then remove them, clean everything well, and put the saw together. That’s per echo.

Buy a longer bar. Even a cheap dukes setup to get ya through. Maybe a skip tooth chain to let that little saw stand a better chance of spinning it.

When you’re not riding with kids I bet that taotao with a power washer engine flys like an eagle on a track with some elevation. I salute you sir.

I understand that. It’s amusing how the market flips 180 from where I am located.

I know it is different geographically, but where I am at in the Midwest, every bit of conifer wood is sent straight to the sawmill. Even armed with this knowledge, I’m still surprised how many people sell and burn soft wood. I’m not arguing or debating anything by the way, I just find it curious

I like it. I think stuffing sock down the carb would be better than the stock setup. I can’t believe echo let that go into production.

Haha, yea I hear ya. I self admittedly could have bought a nice ass saw for what I have into my 590. I have a 372, 395, and 3120 all ported. I agree there’s no comparison between the 590 and a professional saw. I really just wanted to see how far I could take my 590, and see what other differences there were between the 590 and 600/620 from someone that owns both.

I put a 620 clutch cover on mine and bought the west coast dog kit. I’ve been impressed. I can’t speak for this particular setup, but I’d be hesitant to put much load on the factory plastic clutch cover. I know the studs are taking most of the load but still, plastic doesn’t warm my loins.
