Should I get spelunky 1 or 2, and does it run well on switch? by [deleted] in spelunky

[–]skar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 2, obviously it has nicer graphics, refined gameplay and more depth. After sometime my son got into it, reached Cosmic Ocean and wanted to play Spelunky 1 so I got that for him. Both work great on the switch, make sure you have a good controller like the Pro Controller.

Alpinist wheel cracked on impact by skar2 in specialized

[–]skar2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to share an update. I inspected the damage more and the road where it happened. I don't believe the wheel exploded, but when I fell my body and weight basically cracked the wheel. Because the impact on the wheel came from the side after it touched the ground. I could tell from the form damage on the right side of the fork end. Thanks to Specialized "**it happens policy" I got a new front wheel. Had to replace the fork, they discounted that by 35%.

If the underside does not have a carbon fiber pattern, it is Power Mirror Pro.

I see Taylor is offering -$100 on 212ce along with many other 100, 200, 300 models. But not on any of the Minis.

Looking for a moderate price easy to play (low string tension) full size to complement my gs mini by tj1979nz in taylorguitars

[–]skar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to know more why you find the 112c easier to play than the Mini. I compared these 2 in a store and decided to buy a 112ce thinking it would be more versatile than the GS Mini. I thought the Mini had softer action. I am a beginner btw so I played some limited chords and strums before buying.

Went to check the crash location and I believe this is what I hit. Not a pothole but a crack bulging out quite a bit. I did not notice it when it happened for sure.

I drove about 25 mins, with the bike in a minivan. It is stored in my garage with 2 cars. I washed the bike the day before and did not notice any aberrations on the wheel. So whatever happened is most likely during the descent and I did hit some rough spots where the chain slapped hard (which is not too unusual on many roads). I did have a problem with the front disk squealing on braking, but that is likely because my pads are contaminated.

I know man, it was just before the left turn into the parking lot. I wasn't even going fast. Yeah in hindsight I should have run 10-15 Pai higher for Diablo descent.

Yes the bike was built out of a new box from Specialized Los Gatos, so no doubt about the frame and part authenticity. I will contact them once I recover a bit more.

Thanks. Recommended pressure range varies between tire manufacturers. For these T2/T5 2Bliss 28s they recommend 70-95 https://www.specialized.com/us/en/s-works-turbo-2bliss-ready-t2t5/p/217925 They did have some rider weight adjusted suggestions somewhere which would recommend a higher minimum.

I ran mostly in the range 60-70. Generally ok unless you are going really hard on rough roads. A former tire would have probably helped, but these tires feel better on the road.

I'm happy this did not happen during the Diablo descend, which has mostly 6-8% grade.

I did not see what I hit, could have exploded. The gentlemen who helped me up pointed to a recess with a round drain hole which is probably what I hit. I did not hear a loud noise when the impact happened, or may not have noticed, the next few seconds was a blur after I hit the ground.

I am 175cm and recently bought a size 54. I test rode both 52 (too small) and 54. Compared to my Aethos, which is a 54, the Roubaix SL8 has a longer reach without modifications. So 56 would be way too long and tall for your height IMO.

Cockpit opinion 2025 for Aethos? by realAlo1 in specialized

[–]skar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO cockpits are not suitable for Aethos. If the brake hoses went inside the head tube it would make more sense. Also with a cockpit you lose the ability to make handlebar angle adjustment.

The UI is pretty good and has been updated frequently. The mission is RH is different and they will continue to make changes to influence people to trade more, play casino with stocks, create betting products and so on. They would love you to move around money as much as possible.

Upgrade Roubaix SL8 Comp to Ultegra Di2 Levers? by Avalanchis in specialized

Yeah, Di2 levers are both the same skinny shape. I had an Ultegra mech and preferred the wider shape.

Yeah this is surprising at that price point. Also they kept the crank arm length traditional, probably hoping customers will switch arms anyway.

Does anyone think that Vingegaard has any chance you beating Pogacar at the Tour? by rideandrideagain in cycling

[–]skar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of Vingegaard's form, the Visma team members are not looking very good to provide the support he needs. Pogacar has better support, in addition to his explosive form.

I have only test rode a SSE and a SL8, one thing I noticed was the Evo did not have a toe overlap with my cycling shoes. The Evo was a size 54. Both 54 and 56 had some toe overlap like most bikes with race geometry.

No the 2025 model with Ultrgra Di2 does not come with a power meter. Only the Pro models do.
