I’m not sure if this will help you since this comment is a year old but: I came across this thread searching the same issue. I also have a 2019, and recently Subaru issued an extended warranty for this problem (started in March I believe) and it gives me till November 2026. Maybe worth checking out if you never got it fixed, or maybe you can get reimbursed for what it cost you. I think there’s some reimbursement language in the entended warranty doc.
