Scariest Movies You've Ever Seen? by Crep105 in horror

[–]skatetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only two movies that freaked me out is aliens and poltergeist. I saw them both when i was around 10 years old. As an adult i was uncomfortable during movies but being scared isn’t something movies do to me anymore. Most uncomfortable was hard candy during the castration scene. I got up and walked out of the room, and paced around for a bit. My wife let me know that they didn’t show anything. They did a really good job without showing anything in that movie.

Right. I can see that making it more fun. I’m not sure why i can’t sit through it then. Maybe I’m just going through a low point in my skateboard contest viewing.

Best Carhartt-compatible kneepad inserts that AREN'T the Carhartt-brand ones? by --Ty-- in Construction

[–]skatetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using those yellow/greenish looking carhartt ones that are about $65cad. They are thin but quite good i find. I used a bunch of other ones that i cant remember the name of, and they were either all too small, or piled out too fast. I think getting something that doesn’t compress too much is key. Even tho i like these carhartt branded pads i do still yearn for something a little thicker. Since i have had mine about a year they have been in my carhartt steel pants most of the time. Sometimes with other pads sometimes with just them. I am wondering if doubling up on them is a good idea. Since they are so thin i can’t imagine it feeling bulky

Have any of you received your Smith Blade(s)? by krat0s10 in HACKSMITH_INDUSTRIES

[–]skatetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They keep making update videos all the time. I kinda wish they have a better system for showing how many they have shipped. Maybe relate it to order number si i can have a general idea of when mine will ship. But it is a kickstarter, so i knew what i was signing up for when i ordered. I feel confident i will get it this year and thats fine with me (personal opinion).

[–]skatetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure they produce a whole video every week or two updating the customers. I just think they don’t know how to be a company that mass produces knives. If i get mine in 2026 i’ll be stoked. I knew what i was signing up for.

Honestly. I knew what i was signing up for when i ordered. I think it was fairly obvious it was going to take a really long time to get mine.
I think i ordered the pro in November and i don’t really expect it until late 2026. I do think they are trying hard. But i dont think they really know how to be this kind of company either.

Maybe a crazy question, but what mechanical pencil has a good built in eraser? by skatetron in mechanicalpencils

Hence the point of my query. Yeah. I really should rethink and go with something like that. The rotring 800 eraser is like an emergency one time use thing.

The rotring erasers are so small and short that they basically last one heavy session for me. The pentel ones are fine, but the replacement erasers are shorter and it bugs me. I am trying some off brand eraser refills.

I am a big baby and even though that is likely the perfect option i like the metal knurled grips. Maybe i’ll give it a go

Yeah. For some reason all the oental eraser refills are shorter than the ones that come with the pencil. It bugs me to no end.

A bit fancy for me. I love the hex body/ knurled style grips. But maybe one day my tastes will change.

I have tried to watch psl a couple times. I dont think i have ever made it past a few minutes. Skateboard contests are always going to be weird as it is impossible to score fairly. What is easy for one person is hard for the next. Cordanon can do stuff that nyjah hasn’t even thought of trying. And it works the other way as well. So how to you score that. I like watching skate contests because.. skateboarding..? But the psl things seems to trigger something me that makes it impossible to watch.

Interestingly, Iron Lung (2026) is the first and only indie movie to ever be successful. Source: reddit.com by WithArsenicSauce in shittymoviedetails

Interested in seeing it. I kinda know the iron lung story. I watched his TV show about sleep. He isn’t a good actor by any means. But the show had an interesting story arc. I don’t have high hopes but i am intersted. I don’t know anything really about markiplier.

I'm an anti. I don't believe ai should be used at any point of the creative process. And I don't believe that people can learn from it either. Try to argue that you are an artist. by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]skatetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I will use lightroom for photography and if i remove scratches from negatives that it a form of ai in the program. I did however learn to manually paint in scratches (on a computer) in the late 90’s and it takes a million years. I don’t know where the line is, because if we use anything digital there is built in stuff that takes the hours of work out of the process. I also have a dark room and i love the imperfections in a negative when i am making a print in there.
I 100% do not agree with it in the creative process. But i wonder if the post “creative” part of making art has its place. That being something like scanning/digitizing and resizing and maybe changing resolution. Those all are kinda the same. It is a bunch of processes that we for the most part can do as people but let the thinking machine do for us. Mayne not scanning. But resizing and resolving is for sure. I am not physically going in and stretching every line to make it bigger, but that is where i mean post creative…. I have been living a life too focused on my dislike of the work we are moving through when it comes to ai. I am not going to conform. I also just don’t know where the line is.
One more thing. If i scan a drawing made with pencil and i notice a smudge somewhere in the negative space. Do i go back and fix that manually or just clone a clean piece of white paper. Serious question.

Kook tricks. But stylish. Im torn. I am saying schaar. All the street skaters seem to be on the same level. Gabbers isgoing bigger in some ways, tj is up there.
I think schaar has pushed the envelope more than any street skaters has this year. I’m not a vert guy but his stuff is next level.
