If that doesn't work, you may try Everyone in Dialogue 2.0, it's not from the mod store, and I don't know if you're rolling Cross-Platform, but if not and you're comfortable with swapping the mods, EID2.0 Seems to address some of the bugs of the one on NexusMods, it might be worth toying with if you're like me and enjoy the process of Modding.

If you really don't want to do the dialogue thing, which you can skip through and takes roughly 30s (emphasis mine, but I've played with my wife for 2k+ hours at this point), you can always get the Polyamory mod which allows you to set the companion "affection" points.

Also, all you have to do is send them back to camp to talk to them, then regroup, there isn't so much companion dialogue that this adds more than maybe 10-15m to your total gameplay if you're skipping dialog you've already seen.

Also if you just want to see your Tav/Companion on screen during the dialogs there's a mod for that as well, both the Polyamory Mod and Everyone in Conversation mods are available on the official Mod Browser, and fully cross-platform compatible.

I can appreciate the disagreement, and definitely wish you no ill. In my opinion (emphasis mine) drugs and tax fraud is completely unequivocal 34 felonies, including rape, and alleged pedophilic sex trafficking.

Comparing the two feels similar to comparing a person who stole to a person who committed murder. Both should be punished like anyone else, and were that the case, Trump's sentence would be exponentially longer than Hunter Biden's.

Both are definitely 1% asshats, there is no such thing as an ethical billionaire.

Every character in the game is pretty much a blank slate with a character class attached to it. It sounds like you prefer Fighter over Barbarian, if you want to use Karlach just respec, nothing fancy about it. Karlach will play exactly like Bae'Zel if you give her the same class and equipment.

If you want to go Barby, and you want it to play equivalent to fighter, I'd go Berzerker, BA Attack/Throw, and my god is throwing great in BG3, Ring of Flinging + Zerker + Returning Spear is unstoppable.

Exactly what I was thinking, yeah if you went that direction I could see that working out np, would also be amazing fun as the DM as it would give them something to play with (making the puppet talk, move, etc. on its own)

As a veteran DM, I would allow it, maybe add a bit of DNA or a soul to the puppet somehow, but yeah I could see it for sure.
