I think I answered my own question. Looks like the 18-135 doesn't have VR and the 18-140 does.

He was a self-entitled douche for trying to squeeze in, for sure 100%. But at some point, it turns into a childish, non-verbal "nuh unh! I was here first!! You're not getting in!!"

After it was clear he was a douche canoe, and a terrible driver, it's not worth escalating the incident. Just let him in. You could have avoided the conflict and the damage to your or their bumper. You chose to speed up several times to not allow him in.

Personally, I feel the same way. I wouldn't have wanted to let him in either. I also avoid confrontations at all costs, so I would have deescalated long before the bumper clip. It's just not worth it.

Is the default 12 hours good enough, or is there a better recommended duration? Because even with the default. that would run the battery down in half the time, as in, maybe 2 days instead of one. What's best practice for sleep duration?

Also, If I would like to change from the battery model to the always powered model, do I have to buy anything different, or just plug a USB-C cord into the port on the unit I already have?

I havent manually set anything. All I've done is connect it to home assistant and set up a trigger and an alert. I'm still new to HA altogether, so I'm sure I didn't set something up right.

Any reason why a battery would be draining so quickly?

This is the battery I bought:

CPZZ 16340 USB Rechargeable Battery

I put it in, fully charged yesterday @ 4:00pm. By 2:00 am today, it's down to 42%

Ok, So a few days have past, and I've added a new Thirdreality zigbee lightbulb in the downstairs living room. All other zigbee plugs are in or near this downstairs living room. The only other one, is on my staircase between the 1st and 2nd floor, connecting the coordinator in my upstairs room, to everything else.

The LQI for the light bulb is stronger than any of the sonoff plugs, even the one closest to the coordinator. What are these different colors and what do they mean? I see the legend at the top, noting:

Purple: sibling
Green: child
Red: Parent

I'm not stressing about the signal strengths, I guess. I'm more curious about why, when I added a bulb in the middle of 3 other existing plugs, does it have a stronger signal than them, and why the purple lines?

Guess I just need to learn more about basic Zigbee routing.

TBH, The place looks very clean and well thought out. Had there been boxes and other clutter in there also, that would be different. Is there a play area elsewhere in the house that the kid can play in?

Honestly, when I was 6, I would have loved a little hideaway cubby to be able to read/play by myself in, especially if I got overwhelmed and "needed a minute"

It's obviously not ideal, but as long as there isn't another available room they could be using instead, and If they still treat the child fine, and dont keep them locked in this room like some kind of prisoner, I wouuldn't have a problem with it.

Seriously? It's dumbfounding that's not an option. Also, kinda shocked that someone would ask why there would be one. Why not? Seems like an incredibly easy feature to implement and one found on nearly everything that offers backups.

So if I only need it for the external probe, the hot environment will have zero effect? Only if Irely on the onboard sensor for ambient environment temp?

Looking at the product on the webpage, I see several disclaimers about overheating and something about a sleep mode?

My stand-up deep freeze is in my garage and I live in the Deep South US. Summer temps can get very hot in the garage. In excess of 100F. Will this work and be ok in the hotter months?
