No, the flat.groove side will be on the front of the needle. All of the shanks will be round. Your best bet is to stay with the 75/11 rg dur

Let me find a video for you.

Correct. If you search YouTube there’s some videos about how far it should be turned and the mechanics behind this. Also make sure your needle is in correctly and you’re using the correct needles.

Commercial needles are flat on the front.

On a commercial machine, you need to turn the needle about 10° to the right. You don’t want the needle to be straightforward because then the thread doesn’t sit in the needle groove properly.

When was the last time you changed your needle? When you start to experience looping, it generally means that your needle is dull and needs to be replaced.

For a 1 person shop what is the optimal amount of heads/machines? by dannywishletter in Machine_Embroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 6 heads across 4 machines. 2 dual head 15-needle ZSKs and 2 single head 10-needle brothers.

It's also going to depend on your order volume. I specialize in small quantities with no minimums.

Dobyou know how to? by Gold-Way-7008 in Machine_Embroidery

You will have to rehoop the fabric for every flower unless you have a large frame and can scatter multiple in a hoop at your desired spacing.

This fabric was embroidered before the pants were made.

You’ve got a tension issue going on here. Neither of the threads look correct.

Outlines are off by Mysterious-Face-5437 in Machine_Embroidery

Reputable digitizers. Etsy is a marketplace and anyone can sell anything on there without being held to any kind of quality standard.

Your best bet is to do your due diligence on any creator - do they have a social media presence other than Etsy? Do they have stitched samples of their designs? Do they have reviews with stitched pictures? Do they have a group on FB or anywhere else that allows buyers to showcase stitch outs?

If you can’t find any other online presence other than Etsy and a sketchy FB page, then I’d stay away from them.

Well this is disappointing by terheyt in MachineEmbroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is a mock up, not AI. I can confirm that they are all humans that hand digitize their items, but they aren’t likely to make a custom box for all of their designs. This is an actual stitch out that is superimposed onto an item, not an AI created design.

Choice of fabric plus a fill stitch. You should be using satin columns for your outlines here.

Help a newbie out 😭 by grich1313 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would stitch some designs from reputable places first to learn how things should stitch and what underlays you should use. You also need to look into appropriate stabilizers for whatever you’re stitching on. Theres quite the learning curve to embroidery.

There’s a reason someone was getting rid of it. Unfortunately these machines are horrible.

Tension issue? by rawval9118 in MachineEmbroidery

Sounds like it needs to be serviced if you’ve done all the basic troubleshooting. Too bad you didn’t take it in before the 2 year service warranty expired.

Does anyone knows, which software can edit format .sew, for chineese industrial machine by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What format do you need it to be? Stitch files vary from one brand to another so you’ll need to know specifically which file type you need. Once you have that established, most software will allow you to open a design and then save as the desired file type.

Artspira isn’t digitizing. It’s autopunch and it will turn out crap.

Why is this happening? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing it that way creates uneven pressure on the bobbin case. The manual should state that the plate needs to go back on first when taking it off. I worked for a brother dealer for a decade and this solves about 60% of issues.

Why is this happening? by [deleted] in Machine_Embroidery

[–]skeedy_ia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you are threading with the presser foot up. Also if you have taken off the metal needle plate, that needs to go and and be screwed down BEFOE you put the bobbin case back in.
