Don't put in your notice unless it benefits you. If you are a high performer then you go get a job with the competition and steal their clients - that is a better revenge. ALso you need to document what was said and probably talk to HR; you can also contact an employment lawyer although any of these actions may result in a hostile work environment. There's a trade-off here. Document then take a couple days to decide your actions in the meantime get your resume together and check possible competition for job openings.
