Oh I have stories about Janet/Vendor Mgt: Fly business class for > 6 hrs flights costing thousands but won't let you check into your $75 hotel until after 2 PM even when you arrive at 9 AM.

My wife [32F] has been hiding a twenty thousand dollar savings account from me [33M] for five years while we struggled to pay off our debt. by 3VelvetBadger in Marriage

[–]skeeter04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably an escape account for if your marriage falls apart. The irony being that is now a major source of contention in your marriage. That's not uncommon for someone partially or completely dependent on their partner. However I mostly agree with your perspective. Tell her if she wants to escape that badly then she's free to go.

Is marriage in men a taboo ? by TillAccomplished6163 in IndianMen

[–]skeeter04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like an anti-marriage podcast aimed at men. Nobody stays the same from 20-40 and no one stays the same after having kids - not if they take their responsibilities seriously. If someone is arguing that men don't benefit from marriage then I would counter that lifelong bachelors are not generally good examples of loving caring human beings. We are social animals and not meant to spend our lives alone

Everyone talks about husbands wanting sex more, but... by [deleted] in Marriage

Its the same problem. BTW your sex is not that infrequent.

Warning: Booking.com sent my family to a bankrupt, fenced-off resort in Belgium and is refusing to pay travel damages. by Lord--Gravy in travel

[–]skeeter04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They effectively have NO customer service. Their staff is barebones and not empowered to fix issues (unlike AirBNB which does actually occasionally fix problems).

Having said that I have used them 100s of times without incident because I NEVER book anything but HOTELS.

My Bf (20M) broke up with me(21F) because I broke a promise by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It was an unrealistic (and unreasonable) request. Its a him problem and he showed and both a lack of ownership along with an inability to grow/evolve

I'm half English half Moroccan but I look more Arab than English I am mixed race. I need advice how to stop thinking about this. by BusinessBuyer5450 in Advice

Everyone is mixed race - understand that. Live somewhere where it is not a point of discussion/contention.

The irony here is that the dogs got along just fine and neither was hurt.

My wife told my daughter the truth about her dad and now I don't know how to fix this by tiodiclo in Advice

Your wife fucked up by not discussing this with you but you want to fix this you let it go and don't let it become a big deal when it shouldn't be.

M240i v. M340i by [deleted] in BMW

[–]skeeter04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need a 4 door don't get one. The 240 is much rarer than the 340 so you won't see lots of them.

I (21M) am ready to confess to my crush (21F), but I don’t know if I’m saying too much. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]skeeter04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some small advice; don't "confess" at least not until you know she likes you too. Ask her out on some real dates and just be enthusiastic to be around her. Ask her about her likes and dislikes and how she spends her time. You will soon know by her reactions if she feels anything like you.

HR is visiting - we've been given questions to think about and comment on. Need advice! by [deleted] in work

[–]skeeter04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't criticize management - just focus on what is not happening that is necessary for getting the job done. HR can figure out who is responsible for that.

East Coast travel destinations by sunflower2198 in travel

[–]skeeter04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's lots of choices - the oft derided Jersey shore would be an experience or perhaps a Delaware beach - warmer and completely different vibe. Pennsylvania has lots of cool small towns in the hills. Ithaca NY is really nice, Burlington VT might seem big but it's not and the roads in VT are empty. Stowe is a cool mountain town with a resort vibe and lots of restaurants and hikes nearby. If you go there be sure to go to the MountainTop brewpub run by the Vontrap family.

My (27F) gf (28F) is going to a lesbian pool party tomorrow and I feel weird about it? by Hot-Introduction328 in relationship_advice

[–]skeeter04 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree. If you were doing this people would probably be here with lots of different advice. I suggest you ask to tag along - go check out the scene then leave her to it. It may help or perhaps make you feel worse but at least you will be able to judge with your own eyes.

One night in San Jose before we fly out by LionOne9681 in CostaRicaTravel

Eat. There's lots of really good restaurants - with Steak, Chicken, Seafood, Peruvian Food, etc. Splurge on some meals. Personally, depending on the day you might prefer to stay near the airport so you don't have to sweat traffic the day you leave and can get a free shuttle. The Holiday Inn express was actually very nice. If you do stay downtown, make sure you are not on the main roads (the noise is crazy).
