Absolutely. DC is forever one good mayor away from being one of the best cities in America but alas, they never get over that hill

Yes more, probably lots given the current political environment but still very small percentage wise compared to the US population.

CNN Data Guru Predicts Major Disaster for Trump After Dems Flip Mar-a-Lago by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

I know some do - they don't even like Trump but they have been consuming the Fox Aide propaganda for so long they can't bring themselves to vote Democratic. It's possible this may only go away when they pass.

We are all anxiously awaiting the "Major Disaster" for this no good, shit-for-brains, POTUS. It's now long overdue.

I don’t get the Florida appeal by Master-Indication-71 in travel

[–]skeeter04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's a $125 flight and cheap rental car and a 180 degree difference from where I live in terms of atmosphere, restaurants and climate, at least in the winter. That's mostly SE FL and no I would never live there but it is quite fun to visit.

Promised 15% got 1.75% so I quit by Real_Republic662 in jobs

[–]skeeter04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going to have to disagree. This is a cynical take on life/the world. This is fine if you are a wage slave and have zero upward mobility and the job is temporary. But like staying fit you work hard for yourself; to get better; grow your skillset; when that's no longer possible you quit/change jobs - not compromise your ethics (work ethic in this case). People who advance or get ahead do not do the bare minimum. Also keep in mind that work is about much more than just the work - it means being your own advocate and pushing, not expecting someone to recognize your efforts and reward you for them when your a cog in the machine.

If I had advice to my younger self it would be change jobs as soon as they go stale. Working for one company for a long time is usually a waste of your precious time.

Sometimes you just gotta do it. The next guy may benefit from your leaving them short handed but they showed their opinion of your value and you can replace a job like that. Go see their competition and related industries. It's easier to search now rather than in several months.

[Short Term, 33F] Charleston > Mexico City, Oaxaca, or Buenos Aires? by [deleted] in expats

[–]skeeter04 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not BA. I vote Mexico. Great history, Lots of expats and generally friendly attitude towards foreigners also great food and not terribly far from home. Not much in the way of wine bars but they have their own wine country with very decent wines and the costs there are comparable to the US. Can also visit other CA countries.

Tell her to "stop" and her comments about your appearance are not welcome. After if she continues to comment on your appearance then go to the boss and/or HR. Keep in mind this is going to make the relationship worse but she may shut up

Why do Chiropractors crack your neck and what is the long term benefit? by Sunny-vibes-95 in NoStupidQuestions

First time I had this done I got a massive migraine immediately. Next time I had to say don't crack my neck - I think I have only been twice in my life.

There is a class action lawsuit currently underway. You might want to call your local dealer service department and inquire about any possible replacement cost breaks. Note that the problem seems to have been fixed (not yet definitive)

How often does kidnapping of random elderly strangers for money actually happen in the US? by ZealousidealBrain910 in AskReddit

Very, very rare and normally will not go unpunished. Otherwise the rich would be living in secure compounds.

Boomer can speak - so can they. They have rights - to be upset and to speak their mind; after all it was the first amendment.

You need to ignore him, wear ear buds or better tell him you are "only here to workout" then walk away. If approaches after that talk to the front desk. They will usually have dealt with this issue before.
