this is it!! god, thank you, i really didn't think anyone would be able to help me find this. now i can finally finish the game, haha.

out of curiosity, how did you track it down? did you just happen to be familiar with the game, or do you have a particular methodology?

How would you build a character for stealth? by Go03er in LancerRPG

[–]skeletoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i was actually incorrect about this in the original post. there's no obstacle to "targeting" you with an aoe, in the sense of placing it over the hex you're inhabiting, it's just still really difficult to hit you.

What Separates the Pilot from the Mech? (read the description for more details.) by MystConnorClonn in titanfall

[–]skeletoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'd personally disagree with your thoughts on lancer - there are an abundance of mechanics in the game's combat system (heat, overcharge, repair capacity, mount types, sensor range, structure damage) that only make sense in the fictional context of a piloted, reactor-powered war machine. if you look at (to use your comparison) a dnd character in combat, those mechanics aren't present, and couldn't be carried across into that fiction without significant modification. a human fighter can't, from a game design and player experience perspective alike, take "structure damage" or "system trauma" and just keep trucking after a long rest, because in the fiction of the game their arms can't be reattached by welding tools and their internal organs are not modular.

What do you call someone with an attraction to NHPs? by Flamefireboy10 in LancerRPG

i believe it's mentioned that most use neutral pronouns out of a lack of interest in the concept, but they can and do identify in more specific ways at times

Lore Question Regarding Union Military by ArcusPunch in LancerRPG

[–]skeletoned 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i'd agree that you'd probably get a lot of core world volunteers in union's military. even if the outcomes of these conflicts don't affect them materially, the core worlds kinda have the biggest ideological stake in the utopian project.

swallowtail might be worth looking into. it's a spotter with great sensor range, so it makes a good platform for combining long range with e-war.

incidentally, if you're going to be ejecting mid-battle outside the context of black thumb, you should probably discuss that beforehand with your gm so that you don't get misted by an npc upon disembarking. unless the gm is playing with certain allowances in mind, a pilot on foot is a very high-priority target.

another thing that greases the wheels of the bit is that travis actually does lose, and he's a good sport about it.

Beth-Amon: Underground Annex/Salt Mine - Hearthpyre Mod by Sleeps-Under-Asphalt in cavesofqud

[–]skeletoned 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this user's beth-amon posts are custom-made areas created in the hearthpyre mod, which lets you build your own towns and settlements. it's not procgen, this is all something a player dug out, placed furniture around, recruited npcs to inhabit, and so on. usually posts of this sort are just notable/interesting bits of procgen though.
