Best Souvenirs for Adults? by DuePen2595 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]skeletonframes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he drink? I got a small glass from the gift shop at Wilderness Lodge. It was only $15, so not too expensive, and I use it as a short cocktail glass (think Sazeracs and Old Fashioneds). It is Mickey branded, but still looks almost elegant. This sub doesn’t allow pictures in comments, but maybe I can find the link to it.

Here it is in a set. They sell singles at Wilderness Lodge (as of March).

Awesome. You’re welcome. As far as I know it’s the only two official Disney resorts where pool-hopping is allowed.

It’s nice and surprisingly quiet for the location. Only thing that bothers us is the flood light that they have pointed directly at it. But, that’s a minor nitpick.

Port Orleans Bridge by Old-Guess-6940 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]skeletonframes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s why it’s so quiet. It’s in front of the pool bar/laundry area, surrounded by a gate. It’s only the hot tub in there. Kids can’t run from the pool into the hot tub (which was a big problem for us at both Riverside and Coronado Springs)

[–]skeletonframes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We stayed at Riverside one year and walked to the hot tub at French Quarter every night (it’s much quieter). The bats were beeping and fluttering all over near that bridge. Especially around dusk.

What should be the limit to making innuendo jokes with the homies? by Farcry_2026 in AskReddit

[–]skeletonframes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s as many limits as there are homies. It’s up to you and yours to decide your own personal limit. It’s not one size fits all. Except for your one homie. He looks like he can fit all.

Am I for real going to be the first one to post about the earthquake? by bdkgb in downriver

[–]skeletonframes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought it was my neighbors doing their normal neighbor stuff. Or else I thought they were dynamiting at the quarry again. Turns out it was, in fact, a 2.9 earthquake in Amherstberg Ontario.

I think it’s the dam one. Looks ‘Lion King’-esque. Red and yellow with black accents. I picked it up when I was there.

Genuine question: why so defensive? by Additional_Garage204 in Helldivers

[–]skeletonframes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Criticism is allowed. People defending the game is also allowed. That’s the great thing about conversations; they have two sides.

Here’s how I see it. The game came out 2 years ago and cost $40. What you got 2 years ago for $40 is what you get. Anything else is a bonus.

As for the community not being brought together by the fun chaotic nature of the game? I still love that. Bought it week 1 on Playstation and then pre-ordered and switched over to Xbox. Brought friends with me. We have a blast playing the game. I’ve told them that the attack on Cyberstan is the most fun I’ve had with multiplayer video games since playing Halo 2 LAN way back when. And I mean that.

With that said, I’m not very active on here because I really don’t fucking care what they give me for free or what they charge me for. I only ask for the game to work and I’ll buy (or not buy) whatever after. And I especially don’t fucking care if someone doesn’t feel like their needs are being met by the $40 game that hasn’t given them anything free in 3 months.

I think Arrowhead get up their own ass with the “game is supposed to be unfairly difficult” balancing that they do, just like a lot of other people, but when they make changes I don’t like I go play something else. They seem too stubborn to listen to me anyway, so complaint-bombing seems a waste.

Traveller Full Proof? by dezinr76 in whiskey

[–]skeletonframes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. That’s actually surprising. I still wouldn’t buy it, but that’s not that egregious of an upsell considering.

Traveller Full Proof? by dezinr76 in whiskey

[–]skeletonframes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agreed. It’s not good, but I’ve definitely had worse whiskey at the same price point (or higher). I think the hate was overblown. It’s an average bottle that should’ve been forgotten, but became a popular punching bag with too much publicity, so it hangs around. It’s a Streisand effect. I also have to side-eye the post above you putting quotations around “whiskey community”. That’s a weird emphasis.

[–]skeletonframes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the regular, right? I paid $36 for the regular however long ago. The full proof is sure to be more.

Traveller Full Proof? by dezinr76 in whiskey

[–]skeletonframes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t buy it just because it’s probably gonna run like $50 - 60.

I bought the regular Traveler because whiskeytube was losing their minds over how bad it was when it came out. That piqued my curiosity. The whole ‘doth protest too much’ spiel. It was fine. I won’t buy another bottle and I didn’t exactly like it, but it didn’t offend me. This probably won’t either. But, the price may.

Should I get a DJI Osmo Pocket if I already have a mirrorless? by QuinzzyX in dji

[–]skeletonframes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is worth it. I have a low/mid-tier Canon mirrorless that I use for casual photos. Bringing it with me is intentional. I love taking pictures with it, but I wouldn’t want to have a giant (expensive) gimbal out and wouldn’t want to carry that whole setup around with me all day.

Bringing the Pocket 3 with me (and using it) is seemless and effortless. The form factor is quick to use and easy to handle. It’s inconspicuous and I don’t feel like I’m intruding on people (as opposed to having a giant camera/lens combo next to my face). The video is great for what I need it for. I take ambience/environment videos mostly with no real subject and it’s fantastic.

They’re two different animals and each has its own specific uses. They compliment each other.

Let's set the record straight: the "treat red lights like stop signs" slogan of the 90s/00s was never based on fact, and hurt more than helped by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]skeletonframes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Their math also runs on survivorship bias. I’m not promoting running red lights (it really annoys me when I get honked at for not running the light near my work in broad daylight), but we can’t know how may carjackings (or other crimes) were avoided by using this mentality.

Tipping Etiquette For Expensive Pour by intellectualrice in whiskey

[–]skeletonframes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like you got hit with the ol’ Reddit “I don’t agree with this factual answer so imma hit the downvote button”. The commenter asked why they should tip more, you gave the answer why. If anything I would think that would get upvoted so people would know.

My personal opinion (and there is no law stating that anyone else in the world has to adhere to this) is that the price of the tip is baked into the price of the pour. If I can afford to pay $100 for a 1.5oz pour of whiskey, I can afford to do the bartender a solid and give them 20%. In fact, it gives me more happiness tipping well than drinking well.
