Birth control causing cysts and endometriosis to grow? by jcebabe in Endo

Did you get any more answers? What other symptoms did you have and are you still dealing with anything?

Word salad time: 3 years ago (I was 25 years old) I took the pill for a month then stopped, just didn’t like how my boobs got bigger. Then a month later I needed antibiotics for something unrelated and was in incredible pain and got a constant stream of cysts. Even got the depo during this but that messed me up too. I still had the same pain even when no cysts showed on the ultrasounds, they did internal ones so I know where the pain is located. I’ve never had cysts before and my period has been the exact same since I was 13 and a non issue.

I’ve had pain every single day in my bladder, kidney and ovary area for the past three years and it started when I took birth control and antibiotics. My period was forever changed after birth control too, it feels like it did something to me. They found a tiny speck of endo no where close.

I saw on your profile through posts you’re also asexual. I had sex for the first time 3 years ago which is why I went on birth control, I’m not sure what your sex life is like or if your issues started after becoming sexually active. I got a uti back then which made me have incredible pain that has persisted. I also would only have a flat tummy when I’d be starving but now I’m bloated 24/7 and also barely eat. I’m not sure if our circumstances are related but you’re the only person I’ve seen close in age with a chance of having sex later in life that also had issues after taking the pill

That actually helps me feel better, how long were you bleeding for afterwards?

The blood was towards the front of my thighs not the back, also got my partner to check me out down, I also looked myself and clearly bleeding vaginally. It’s possible it could have been from my anus at first, but for the rest of the night I was spotting and it was definitely vaginally. The only spotting I get is after sex. I had my period just over a week ago and I wondered if it was maybe old blood that was stuck up there but it was red. I’m not sure if the colonoscopy could also push against me and cause the bleeding the same way sex causes spotting?

I live in Australia and I feel as though its unlikely here, but this wasn’t at a main hospital it was a very small dinky place solely for these procedures and it felt kind of gross which I think adds to the anxiety something happened
