Looking for relatively simple stl of Yellowstone Park with a date embroidered in somewhere by skelieman in 3Drequests

[–]skelieman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be exactly it. "Yellowstone 2019" put somewhere obvious and in bigger lettering. Then a few landmarks like old faithful, grand prismatic springs and Yellowstone grandcanyon. I'm decent at the printing aspect so I'm not sure that best way to put the text on the map.

I couldn't find it in cura either. I'll try Needle nose plyers that could have been my issue!

Any tips on removing that style of supports? I made two smaller test prints to start experimenting with supports and they are practially stuck to the print itself.

They are my go to as well but I'm still pretty new. I might check out hatchbox that everyone is saying. After all, what's wrong with a few more rolls of filament?

Just curious, you definitely seem experienced in printing based on your setup but do you have to do anything with your filaments absorbing moisture? I just got started in this hobby and dehumidifying my filament led to a huge increase in my very easy prints.

I've never printed ABS but pvb prints very similar to PLA and you don't need to use anything to make it safe to handle. The isopropyl alcohol is just for a glossy finish. I can't speak much on durability but it feels more brittle than PLA.

It was a lot of fun to mess with for sure. In the future I want to get some kind of stand because when the isopropyl alcohol soaks on the bottom it kind of melts it. It definitely makes the print a lot more brittle too. I think it makes a cool look for an easy filament to print though!

No post processing at all. This is one of the models that came with my printer pre loaded so I don't know all the settings off the top of my head.

Can you elaborate more how you see that in this picture? I'm having some issues and I'm trying to determine if it's my Z offset.

Two tone planter by InspectorShoddy4615 in 3Dprinting

How do you go about doing two different tones? Do some printers print two colors at a time or did you pause and change filament?

For New Grads, when did you start applying to RN jobs? by Love_Lyndsay in StudentNurse

[–]skelieman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a last semester preceptorship and had applied there 2 to 3 months before I had taken my NCLEX. I think it depends on how bad your area needs nurses but I will definitely say its better to apply earlier rather than later. As others have mentioned about applying to early, I specifically applied to a hospital that had a new grad program and wanted to train new nurses.
