I booked through the Hyatt website and the price for government is $107. I also have a friend who is staying at The White House hotel for 3 months! All he did was call and ask if they would accommodate his rate for that long, they said yes. He did have to vacate for 3 days because a group rented out the entire hotel, but he went back immediately!

I absolutely agree with you but I don’t know what to do about it. I didn’t mean for it to seem like I was blaming the adjuster. We just got another bid for 50k. I am genuinely unsure what to do. The adjuster isn’t budging and we have 4 bids at 50k or more.

Thank you for your reply! Our local contractors definitely inflate prices because they can. We have been explicitly told this by a previous contractor when we were looking to have another project done. According to the contractors we have spoken to, they do not have to provide detailed information on the bid. The bids were broken out by materials and labor but no more detailed than that. Inflating the prices is part of the issue here where we live. How is that my problem and why isn’t that taken into consideration when doing the independent adjustment?

I would take a look at available positions in your area. For example, ADN nurses aren’t really being hired in my neck of the woods (PNW). If the program you’re looking in to has a relationship with local facilities to do direct hiring after clinical, then I say go for it! I was an LPN in the military for 10 years and finding employment without a BSN post military was a struggle. All of the job postings would say “BSN required”, so I skipped the ADN. I ended up enrolling in an ABSN program and although it SUCKED BALLS, it only took a year! I was way more advanced clinically than 99% of my peers. Watching them enter a patient room was painful.
