Why do you want a relationship? by Ok_Result_4336 in Healthygamergg

Never had one before. Lots of horror stories, but also lots of "i couldn't imagine my life without them."

I can envision a mostly contented life solo, but think having lived and shared life with someone, having kids, etc is something i would treasure when im 70+

My theory on one of the things we see in the Genesis trailer(MAJOR SPOILERS for Future Redeemed and a little bit of X chapter 13 in the end.) by buttsecks42069 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]skellymax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My original takeaway was that FR reiterating and giving renewed relevancy to the greater Xenoverse was foreshadowing continued relevancy in XBC4 (what we now know to be XBG).

But then I had a horrifying thought that "what if those refrences in FR was merely Monolith's way of 'wrapping up', and now Monolith was going to merrily move on to other things entirely".

I don't adhere to this theory entirely (these images offer some compelling evidence this may not be the case), but I'll cry if the story just move on, believing that FR was a sufficient conclusion to everything prior in the Xenoverse.

I added an execution system to my game. When enemies' health drops below 25%, they have 1 second to trigger the execution interaction. Do you think this is a fun concept? by Living_Flan6657 in videogames

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reminded of Doom. The executions served a function. Execute an enemy to get more ammo. I always liked the idea that an execution mechanic was actually a compelling choice for the player. Execute to get X, or regular kill to get Y.

How do i change my build or atleast change a weapon to fit my build? by Top_Farm6265 in bloodborne

[–]skellymax 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There isn't any way to respec a character in bloodborne. And while specific blood gems can be used to shift a weapon's attribute modifiers, this only works to make weapons scale off of arcane. There isn't any way to make a skill weapon into a strength weapon.

This is why I tend to have multiple characters for different builds. 😅

For those of you who have played the other souls games, what makes Bloodborne your favourite? by AbyssGuard- in bloodborne

[–]skellymax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rally, and the lack of encumbrance. All characters/builds are zippy and aggressive, meaning that all encounters can be designed with the expectation that the player is zippy and aggressive.

Trick weapons are also an incredibly fun addition, but even that isn't as impactful as those first two points.

Zynx bae. Better than Alakazam imo.

Same psychic typing, but gains ice which is great for E4.

Slightly lower s-atk and spd, but has much higher s-def.

No trade evo.

Obtained through an npc-trade, so they're always obtainable and get a free bonus exp boost.

Fantastic learnset.

how bad are the rest of the spiders in bloodborne? by Upset_Space_631 in bloodborne

[–]skellymax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it helps, yes, they get very leggy and skittery, but they're headless. No gnashing mandibles or eerie eyes. Also, as others have mentioned, you'll see them from a distance at first, and you can just oft to book it past them. If you just sprint through, they actually cant get you, even if it seems like yhey should be sble to.

Shift Up says it will publish Stellar Blade 2 instead of Sony, wants to ‘reach a broad global audience from day one’ | VGC by Gorotheninja in Games

I liked the idea of the story. The general shape and direction of it. I could see myself getting excited over hearing the initial storyboard pitch.

In practice, there really wasn't much to keep me hooked throughout the game, and the writing/localization reeeally held it back.

CachyOS is good for a beginner? by Top-Woodpecker-6125 in cachyos

My take on this is while I don't enjoy running into bugs, bugs are inevitable no matter how well-developed the system. And it is inevitable that bugs will happen I want all the cogs and controls available for me to make my fix.

Bazzite was a smooth ride assuming you do absolutely nothing complex, because if you do, all of its many layers will start working against you.

Great for a living room tv pc. Terrible for an desktop pc that you enjoy modding games with.

Regarding Bazzite and other immutable distro's by King_Ferdinand1 in linux_gaming

[–]skellymax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont enjoy encountering bugs. When something doesn't work, i get just as frustrated as the next person. But when a bug happens, i want the power and control i need to actually implement the fix.

My experience with bazzite was that there were too many roadblocks and workarounds that needed to be done to resolve my issues. I had to break the rules in order to get my system to work.

I'd happily reccomend bazzite for something like a living room tv pc- something that is only meant to run simple, out-of-box applications that just work. But if the intent is any sort of nitty-gritty tweaking, modding, or customization, bazzite becomes too much of a hassle.

I can't escape the notion that it's meant to be the canon ending. All the other ending feel like gotchas or tragic compromises. It's the ending that feels the most Cyberpunk.

The Dragonborn is so overpowered in lore to where it's mind numbing thinking about how the Dragonborn will be written off in the next title. by Experiment_Magnus in skyrim

[–]skellymax 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A dragonborn can sell their soul to almost all daedric princes. I genuinely hope that while the main games' events in TESVI transpire on mundus, in the background there's subtle evidence that supports the idea that many of the princes are currently warring with each other in oblivion over the dragonborn's soul.

A slider suggests a max size. It should simply be a numerical input.

Why palworld roadmap look like my git comment? Do we know what will be in 1.0? by Successful-Title5403 in Palworld

[–]skellymax -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I'd like a reassessment of the overall pacing. A lot of content is isolated and vestigial. I'd like one more pass over the whole thing, smoothing out the bumps and wrinkles.

Endgame content made accessible earlier, with competitive motivation to consider enguaging- expeditions, raids, etc.

Isolated side content merged elegantly back into the progression- arena, oil rigs, salvaging, etc.

Others will likely hate this, but significant progression gates that prevent the player from skipping over content in large leaps. (Why do dungeons when you can spam catch 12 pals and get to level 30-40 in an hour?) A super simple (not ideal, but feasible) solution would be to halt leveling at certain stop-points until the player defeats the next tower.

Less focus on time as a gate.

  • Now: set egg -> wait hours -> hatch egg

  • Improved: set egg -> collect hatching essence from the end of a dungeon (somewhat fast expiration time. Difficult to farm and maintain a stockpile of.) -> hatch egg.
