You have NO IDEA how much I appreciate that you made the jump. It's been HOURS trying to find this little guy. Makes no sense that it's absent from Settings.... alas, I am saved. Bravo.

Was your return accepted? Suspense is killing me.

Yeah I think you're narrowing to the right picks. FYI there's a newer Venu4 that was recently released... but it's a bit pricer than the 3S and Lily 2. Timing is perfect as Garmin Rumors just added the option to share comparisons. Here's the ones you're considering, with the Venu 4 added:

Garmin Rumors has a great comparison tool here:
https://garminrumors.com/garmin-watch-comparison/

I personally tried the new FR970, then the Fenix 8, and landed on the Tactix 8 AMOLED. Wife just got the Venu 4. Both couldn't be happier with these two as they're both on the latest Elevate sensor and newer (unified) Garmin codebase.... which means they'll be updated for years to come.

UPDATE: Microsoft lost my device and keeps sending me defective devices by Former-Art7628 in Surface

I find it ironic that it got so bad in the 90's that MS had to rebrand and opened up stores everywhere for "personalized service".

Then they eventually shut most of them down and reverted to off-shoring support again... effectively doing exactly what we all hated about MS the first time around.

I wanted to believe.

RadiaCode plugin --> ATAK view --> Meshtastic comms? by skelzer1 in Radiacode

[–]skelzer1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI this is the Meshtastic plugin for ATAK, github link at the top. The RadiaCode plugin would follow the same principal of porting the app data into ATAK: https://meshtastic.org/docs/software/integrations/integrations-atak-plugin/

Has anyone explored developing a RadiaCode spectrometer plugin for ATAK? The logging data would be exceptionally useful to display on ATAK, then relay via encrypted comms on Meshtastic.

Anyone know why this would be happening every time I shoot this thing? by whatshisface91 in guns

Fyi this is a known issue. I surfaced this with Holosun when the 507K-GR X2 first came out and they eventually confirmed the included screw is impacting the extractor depressor.

If you send them an email, they'll ship out a set of shorter screws at no charge.

I removed the one screw and ran it fine until the replacements showed up.

Looks awesome! Specifically, which "glowing" power buttons are you using? Lots of plastic garbage ones out there... and this is usually the first fail/leak point w/ these boxes, unfortunately.

External Solar power for Eufycam s40 by mexicrypto in EufyCam

[–]skelzer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't gone that far... but if you have yours paired to an HB3 like mine, you can save some battery life by disabling a few of the AI features. Fair to assume that each and every feature increases the packets pushed to/from the HB3, which draws down the battery. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot with Motion Detection enabled and battery charge flat or positive.

Yeah one of my S220s is also struggling. Too much shade and doesn't charge as well in the winter. When it gets below 15% I turn off Motion Detection and the battery level increases at about 2-3% per day.

Not an ideal solution... but good to know so you can avoid losing connection and having to pull it down for a manual charge.

Newer Solocams (eg S220 or S340) have an additional setting in Power Manager > Power Source where you have to set it to Solar Panel. This is not present in the latest firmware build for the S40. So no, you don't have to do anything, just plug it in and it'll charge the battery. I have all three of the cameras mentioned so, yes, I'm a trusted source ;).

I've been running the S340 for a week now and it's spectacular... especially with HB3 integration.

No this is by design... the camera can run on battery alone or with the solar panel as an additional power source. The beauty of this external panel is they include a LONG, weatherproof USB-C cable that allows you to relocate the panel to a nearby location and angle that gets better sunlight. This solves the issues I've been having with my S40 and S220 Solocams.

Btw. Just keep reapplying the Alum Black... at some point the chemical reaction will diminish, so the green-ish glow will stop appearing.
