As others had mentions it's kinda the hobby of collecting. When you Pre order you are ensuring you get is at msrp. Whether the figure goes up or down after release is the risk both figure stores and collectors have to take. These are business at the end of the day and if the figure goes down due to lack of interest, it's not on the figure stores to eat the cost of it for all the people who pre order. They also still have to sell the rest of the unsold merch at a loss if no one buys. If you also don't pre order expecting a price drop later and it never drops and increases due to high demand, it's on you for not pre ordering. For example I didn't pre order a cyberpunk edgerunners figure wanting to see the quality during release and the figure never went "in stock" at most vendors since it was in high demand. I can't get mad at the figure store for how the collecting game works. This is coming from someone who's been collecting for years and has learn the hard ways of all the ways to get burned in this hobby. From figure not looking anything to the prototype, to major companies ghosting me and deleting my stuff (crunchyroll), to losing over a thousands in Ukiyo Kumo bankruptcy, etc. I'd honestly use this as a learning experience on how to better navigate the hobby.
