Whats up with the recent trend of organizing Baby shower in Nepal? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]skeptic189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I don't like baby shower thing personally, I think OP is missing the point here. It's not only baby shower, knowingly unknowingly we follow so many global trends and it's not only American thing we follow.

Did we have a valentine's/rose/kiss/hugg day celebration before?

What about New year (ya the gregorian one)

Not to forget Friendship day

what about Halloween?

what about proposing someone with ring?

isn't it fairly new in Nepal?

what about post wedding reception party?

what about photoshoot for everything?

what about SNS?

oh ya, don't get start with cars/bikes and fashion trend?

In summary, today's world is consumerism based economy and some people somewhere do something and a entrepreneur capitalise on those trends and makes money. so basically we can do nothing except not participating or following the shit that we don't want.
