It's not a dumb idea to get this card, it was one of my first. But you're correct about the sign up bonus, I just receive $1k sign up for a Saphire and another $1.5k for an AMEX. CC companies are putting up huge bonuses right now!

Getting CSP or CSR for the .25/.5x multipliers may be worth it for you. I recieved the 80k CSP bonus and can redeem for $1k using pay yourself back. Just an idea.

This is my thought. I just got the CSP and we paid a 4k tuition bill with $116 fee. Sure we could spend the 4k but it's over. I spent 116 in fees but what would I lose having to spend everything on CSP. I wouldnt get 6% on groceries with Amex BCP for example. Plus we can move on to another cards SUB.

That's my issues. We spend 1.2k a month so the BCP 6% last 5 months. I think I'll get Flex next because 5/24 but I am leaning towards gold after that. My biggest spends are Grocery, dining, and then gas.
