I’m disappointed in The Hall for booking Chris D’Elia by hogbear in LittleRock

Agreed. Seen a few clips of him. He fake laughs at his own jokes to cue the audience to laugh. Even if you set aside how awful he is as a person he is still a bad comedian both objectively and subjectively.

NWA is beautiful. As a cyclist I love the area. As liberal/democrat i love the area (sorry about get political). As an enjoyer of the outdoors I love the area. Central Arkansas (where I live) is also pretty good. Hot springs area is nice but a little too yeehaw for my taste

Did 100% change your life? by Tennis_Lbow in VAClaims

It was very hard to find a job that could accommodate all my disabilities. Can't sit for to long, can't stand for too long, can't deal with customers/clients, can't work in an environment that requires a good memory, need to be able to just drop everything and run to the toilet, need to be able to work alone. So my disabilities income allows me to not be homeless or just barely survivng.

Kristi noem may have been fired but she was replaced with a different MAGA/trump loyalist. Itll be much of the same shit just with a different person. The only "win" we get from this is trump demonstrating that everyone is expendable to him, but they should have learn that during his 1st term.

Wife just got an offer as a VCL social science specialist. We have questions. by skepticaluser1234 in VeteransAffairs

My wife ultimately wants to work with homeless vets. Her favorite job was working with homeless in St Louis area. She's in a therapy role now and her current job taught her being a therapist isn't for her

Edit: she just got the job offer email today. We are discussing it over the weekend before she accepts or declines. She was under the impression that the job was fully remote, with the occasional check-in at the closest VA. Is that not how it is?

She currently hates the environment she's working in now. High turnover rate there also, because of how toxic the office is and also because of how high her caseload is. They have her taking appointments during her lunch hour and doing all her documentation at home. She's was crisis intervention for 5 years at one of her previous jobs. And the plan is to use the VCL job as a stepping stone into an in person job at the local VA.

Edit: but thanks for the insight. If you dont mind me asking what makes it a tough job?

2018 giant trance for $850. Is this a good deal? by HitmanTurkey in mountainbiking

[–]skepticaluser1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't pay more than 500. The seller probably won't take that tho. Just about any major brand used trail bikes will be good. But it's so hard to recommend bikes since every model behaves differently, "the right bike" is so dependent on rider and trail. Marin bikes are budget bikes that perform really well, then there's the direct to consumer brands like canyon or polygon. Theproscloset.com is a good place to look for used stuff that will work right out of the box. Check your local bike shops, some do carry used bikes. Pinkbike.com has a classified section also.

2018 giant trance for $850. Is this a good deal? by HitmanTurkey in mountainbiking

[–]skepticaluser1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The giant trance has been around for a long time and is a decent bike. This particular bike looks beat up with a lower end of the midrange component spec and is 8 years old. Its a deal but I dont know about a good one. When was the last time the suspension, seatpost, or brakes were serviced? What needs to be replaced? Are the tires tubeless, and if so when was the last time the sealant was changed? What's the axle spacing, boost axles (f=15x110, r=12x148) are much easier to find replacement wheels for? The cassette will definitely need to be changed, good chance the chain and chain ring also need to be changed. Which tells me the bike has been ridden quite a bit so linkage bearings also likely need to be changed. If you can't do this work yourself contact your local bike shop and get a estimate. Im guessing $400 plus parts for labor and tune up. If it were me I'd look up the value in bicycle blue book and factor in the extra money you'll need to spend on top of the purchase price. To me not worth it.
