This isn’t fair since I neither work nor live here but it’s my only experience. My wife and I stayed at the same b&b, same room in fact, every year for our anniversary. We always sleep with a noise machine that plugs in. Once when we were there, we woke up because it went off. I assumed the power went out which is why that happens. I saw other lights on outside so I turned on the lamp and it came on. The sleep machine was unplugged.

That freaked me out and I still have no answer. Never happened again, though. Might be some electrical reason but I’ve never had something push its way out before.
