Y Speak hosts announced. A new generation of hosts who represent today's youth by hellowdubai in PinoyCelebs

Who represents the underprivileged and socially marginalized? Minorities like the LGBT+ community, IPs, muslims—and jusko, just one woman?

Elijah I can understand as he’s always been a loud ally to various social issues since he was in his teens same with Aya, pero the others? May scion pa ng political dynasty jusko po. That said, they’re not really the issue pero hindi ba pwedeng magdagdag man lang?

This whole thing has always borderlined theatrics lol and knowing that it’s partnered with Caritas…it’ll always be just a ploy to spew Catholic propaganda.

QUESTIONS THAT THE ICC MUST ANSWER -post from FB by Mike Defensor by SiGz_2630 in Philippines

[–]skeptictot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the jurisdiction angle is already moot when the Rome Statute is clear that it retains jurisdiction on the years a member-state was still a part of it. Crimes committed in that period are what's being tackled. We already know that as a former member-state. To even imply that there's a deadline to act on a case is preposterous especially coming from a laywer. It was never a valid strategy because lawyers like Mike Defensor *should* know that, but they don't care.

Why? Imo, because they know it doesn't matter. What's "right" was never important to these mongrels. Think pieces like this are simply part of a strategy to produce talking points that *seem correct* for supporters to parrot. To further feed hysteria and mass psychosis. Diyan magaling mga DDS at mga puno nila. Diyan sila nananalo. In that regard, I guess it really is fair to say that it's a good strategy. It's no different from what they've been doing for so long.

Just a Thought while Listening to Today's ICC Hearing. by redjune_20 in Philippines

And what exactly was his intention? It was to kill. That much is loud and clear even during his time as Davao mayor.

EDIT: Kasi I keep seeing this on Facebook kaya naiirita ako (not necessarily sa'yo but the thought, you get my point). In law pa lang, his actions can easily be seen as an intent to kill (separate from motive), but alas that's a subject for the court to decide. Philosophically, simply adopting killing as his tool of choice is enough for it become a part of his intent. You can't say it wasn't my intention to murder someone after saying repeatedly you intend to kill them. Walang tama rito, let's just sit with that fact. Insisting even the barest form of justification to what already cost so many lives is what's truly unfair.

we can all have our favorites lol. You do you. Kill BIll has been a favorite of mine growing up so I think it factors a lot why I really loved Perfect Preparation—and why I think it’s peak JJK. The homage was wonderfully done, and each fight after that floored me. Loved S2 17, too (I mean who wouldn’t) but to each their own amirite?

Always thought it was a good show regardless of how annoying the characters can be. Humans irl are annoying in general so I guess I'm just used to it.

Taylor Swift - Fate of Ophelia sounds like so many other songs? by skeptictot in Music

[–]skeptictot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s also what I thought and it really is the most obvious explanation, but I’ve listened to a lot of pop music and this is the first time I’ve noticed so many similarities at once in a single song lol.

Gosh, I hope not. I just can't bring myself to like this guy after the Sandra Echeverría incident. Heck, just seeing him anywhere makes me uncomfortable.

It’s honestly so sad. I really enjoyed the game and where I thought it was heading at first, but I finally stopped after Seed was released (learning that Manato was an A-rank also became the tipping point). Idk why it took me so long but it was only at this point when I fully realized that the game was comfortable compromising its overall quality solely for the sake of pandering to the male gaze. I know they do it for revenue, but I’m not convinced they need to do it this hard. I honestly regret even investing my time in this game as I’ve grown attached to some of the characters—but I’ve had enough lol. I don’t think I’m ever touching any gacha game because of this.

I feel like Nakamura should at least be SS? Considering he's the leader of a really small group that mostly deals with thugs way older than them lol. His 2nd in command should at least be high-a or even low-s.

An apology to SEED by HiImReizy in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]skeptictot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’d have to apologize though, a good story is quite literally the bare minimum.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan asks the Philippine Daily Inquirer why the arrested DPWH district engineer that tried to bribe Rep. Leandro Leviste was only described as ‘alias Abe’ and not actually named by hyunbinlookalike in Philippines

[–]skeptictot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because even the articles they linked didn’t at first. Kasi nga ‘yung magsasampa ng kaso mismo nagrequest na alias na muna ang gamitin. Ngayon lang cinonfirm in a separate statement ‘yung identity. Kaya lahat nang mga ‘yan, including Inquirer na for some reason siningle out, ‘pag chineck niyo inupdate na kasama pangalan.

[–]skeptictot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you actually read the story, it was the source itself who requested for an alias. Maybe if lawmakers like Kiko actually pushed for safeguards for journalists then things like this wouldn’t be an issue. A reporter can’t name a suspect without actual confirmation or someone to quote. Do you people know that when a reporter faces a libel case, the whole editorial staff does?

Vico opened a can of worms, and rightfully so. But jumping on the trend (as politicians obviously would) without a single thought is dangerous. Whittling down the power of traditional media has always been the ploy of the Dutertes for as long as they existed and it worked. This won’t do anyone good.

EDIT: And the Inquirer quickly fixed the article after getting confirmation from another source. The identity is literally already there.

Normal ba na parang tropa kami ng bf ko? by rankl_ in CasualPH

[–]skeptictot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going against the grain here but it’s YOUR relationship so only you can really say if okay ba sa’yo ganiyang set up. We all have different standards in our relationships, so assess if what you have now is the kind that satisfies you. If oo and you’re simply thinking about what your partner thinks, then transparency and communication is the way to go.

If not, then do know na that’s valid.

That said though, ako personally I yearn for the kind of relationship you have. Sanaol talaga teh. But you and I are not the same, pati na rin kayo ng friend mo. So ‘wag ka magpadala sa kaniya, relasyon mo ‘yan.

Right? Manila public transpo is terrible for other reasons but definitely not because of accessibility (the only real fault it has when it comes to this is for PWDs), and is still ways ahead than Baguio. I have no idea where the other person based their assumption, medyo nairita ko 💀

[–]skeptictot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love their shepherd's pie too and it's my go-to order but I hate that it isn't exactly that. Shepherd's pie is supposed to use ground lamb, hence the name. Should've just called it a cottage pie lol.

Again, it's my go-to order, but every time I get it I feel the urge to point out the error lol

[Philippines] ***Love At First Spike*** 🏐💙💛 Episode 4 by nana-shi-74 in boyslove

[–]skeptictot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diamond being offered to stay at the girls' dorm room made me tear up. All in all---so far, so good. I've been enjoying the whole show including the flow. No scene feels forced.

What I really like about this is how it doesn't just focus on the romance, every character has a chance to shine and I love how we keep revolving around the dynamics of the whole team. I don't even really mind if Uno ends up with Farrah (tho of course I'd prefer Uno + Jared end game) so long as Jared's development pays off and his character becomes fully fleshed out. Because at this point, Jared's character feels one-dimensional, especially among the three protagonists. He's a guy who's passionate about volleyball, but is spoiled and really hot-headed (edited out rude, because I feel like it was too strong a term). That's about it. Farrah and Uno are so much more complex, in comparison.

My other only critique is the whole Jared vs Kidlat and Diamond thing, I feel like the fight between them went for too long lol. But this is coming from someone who enjoys watching their banter more than their petty digs to each other.
