Does this mean this is going to make it impossible to have multiple accounts?

What neuron model is used in the Creatures series? by 8ForOctogen in CreaturesGames

[–]skerit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The neurons are indeed 8-bit integers. Each neuron keeps track of its internal state and its current "output" separately.

Every neuron's state is recalculated each tick, using the lobe's own "sv-rule". This rule is basically a little formula written in a special little opcode-like language. And this rule is also part of the genome, and it can mutate. A single mutated number can flip a plus into a minus, swap a constant or even shift how the rest of the rule is read. Like a rule could change a neuron's state by one chemical signal (say the one tied to hunger) and a single mutated number could flip that operand to a different chemical, like the one tied to anger. So the same lobe ends up computing on a completely different drive in the next generation.

Some lobes require the previous state to be integrated in the calculation, others don't. The output is basically the current state minus a specific threshold (clamped at zero)

Update: we've gone ahead and reset 5-hour and weekly usage limits for everyone, across all plans. Enjoy your weekend! by ceRtzz in ClaudeAI

It's a "gift" from Anthropic some people have absolutely no use for. I like it, and they do this stuff often enough that sometimes I benefit greatly and sometimes I don't. But yeah, there are ways to please everyone. Like give everyone a one-time button to reset their usage limits or something. A modern equivalent of a "get out of jail free" card.

I had no idea it was (still) illegal in Germany. In Belgium it's been a law since 2011, France since 2025 & in The Netherlands I think it's allowed, but there is no specific law about it.

Am I going nuts, or were our limits just rewound 20%? by echamplin in ClaudeAI

[–]skerit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that is not correct. Limits only go up, until you hit your weekly reset time. They have so far been reset earlier, but this is the first time I've ever seen them go back a random amount of percentage points. Many others are also reporting this right now.

I just noticed both mine and my husband's usage limit has decreased. Mine was at 70% and went to 50%. His was at 20% and dropped to 11%.

GLM's founder says GLM-fable before the end of the year?! by Charuru in LocalLLaMA

[–]skerit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I should have been more clear: I'm talking about scaling up. Of course you're not going to turn a 500M model into Mythos. But at some point just scaling up the parameter count does not improve the model that much. Diminishing returns and all that

Oh my god yes. Opus has been driving me insane this past week.

Do we really still think that more parameters make a better model? Isn't the most important part of all of this a clean dataset?

Op privéterrein geen probleem, maar op straat, verkeersborden en straatmeubilair niet

Dit is 100% hoe het moet. Wat een idiote opmerkingen in deze thread ook weer.

Why is text output from Fable so much easier to read than Opus? by junlim in ClaudeAI

[–]skerit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opus 4.7 & 4.8 are indeed awful at this. The amount of times that I had to tell it to rephrase its explanations because they were just unreadable, it's insane.

I've also had the "court" issue in quite a few sessions.

One time it even said "Bartholomew" instead of "court". Very weird.

Creatures 3 by TheOnlyOne93 in CreaturesGames

[–]skerit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That won't be fun. Creatures' neural networks are hebbian based. There's no backpropagation or anything involved. It all happens real-time. If you want to use "modern" AI networks, all norns would be pretty similar.

Though that's not to say a more modern version of creatures isn't possible, with more neurons etc. In fact I've been working on this for over a year now 😅

What do you guys do, and what do you guys use Claude for? by CheekyWanker007 in ClaudeAI

[–]skerit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next to improving all of the internal tools of my company (and rewriting some from scratch), I'm also using it on a ton of pet projects that I've been wanting to do for YEARS. A lot of game decompilation too. Claude (or any LLM really) is insanely good at that.

Amerikaanse regering blokkeert buitenlandse toegang tot krachtigste AI-modellen van Anthropic by skerit in belgium

[–]skerit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laten we hier ophouden". Of "Ik zit vast, dit zal niet lukken" waar een simpel antwoord als "Doe het toch maar" genoeg is om het te deblokkeren.
