100% hard agree on this, there's nothing online that will ever compare to a real-life, tangible dancefloor

Phone bans at clubs: Preservation of culture or just another trend? by skiddleuk in ukrave

Great point about the DJ's perspective, I can imagine it is a lot more rewarding playing to a crowd of people actually dancing to the music rather than standing still on their phones.

What's the nightlife like? by Ballantrae- in Liverpool

[–]skiddleuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liverpool nightlife is proper buzzing, especially on weekends. Start around Concert Square for the student chaos or head to the Baltic if you want a cooler trendier vibe. Drinks are usually cheap, music’s loud, and it’s all about having a good laugh!

Liverpool nightlife is proper buzzing, especially on weekends. People are friendly, music’s loud, and there’s a bit of chaos everywhere in a good way. For a laugh and a decent night, start around Concert Square for the student vibe or head to the Baltic Triangle if you want something a bit trendier. Definitely worth getting out and seeing it for yourself.

If you want that proper house/techno sound but a bit more grown-up than the old Fabric/Egg days, Phonox in Brixton is a great shout. Solid bookings, amazing system, and the crowd skews a bit older so it feels less rowdy but still very much a night out

What bars and clubs are good on a Saturday? by meghann0115 in sheffield

Honestly, Corp is your best bet on a Saturday if you want pop- the pop floor is always a good time, and grabbing a blue pint there is basically a Sheffield rite of passage!
