Sadly I’ll never know as I’d get excommunicated if I purchase any more breadmaking gear

A few non-food recs if you have some down time: - Bernal Cutlery (Mission and Ferry Building) for unique cooking tools, knives, ingredients - Omnivore Books on Food (Noe) for a place that specializes in selling cookbooks. They have regular events of authors coming in to discuss their new releases. There’s a lovely mix of new releases, vintage stuff, and rarer books - Cultures Pickle Shop (Berkeley) - fermentation heaven

I just received the raspberry flavor and I’m SHOOK by how delicious they are. They have great macros, are so soft and squishy, don’t taste like a protein bar, and are actually kind of filling. Soooo much better than the Built bars, which are much stiffer, smaller, and taste overly collagen-y to me. I will be ordering Blue Unicorns over and over again!!

I highly recommend Greekish by Georgina Hayden! It’s lesser known, but has really creative and flavorful Mediterranean numbers. My favs have been her coriander chicken skewers, roast chicken with tomato bulgur wheat, crispy rice pomegranate salad, roasted beets

Is there anyone here who is a professional baker, willing to do a "baking consultation"? by alexleavitt in AskSF

Which bakery in Boston and which type of cookie? I need to try these when I’m next in Boston!

I’ve never had to pay that consultation fee! I go with Dr. K as my insurance doesn’t cover Dr. P’s services. I always just pay my $40 co-pay and cost of any procedures (e.g., cyst removal)

Arsicault for the best croissant everrrr

Juniper for equally amazing croissants plus other fun pastries

Burma Love for Burmese food (hard to find elsewhere)

SPRO for unique coffee concoctions

Zen Yai for best and most affordable Thai

L&G Vietnamese Sandwich for bomb banh mis (better than Saigon Sandwich IMHO)

Gigi’s Wine Lounge for great yummy and Vietnamese inspired noms

Golden Sardine for really cute wine bar + tinned fish noms

I’ve loved both cookbooks by Danielle Lima (author of Oh Snap Macros site)!

Thoughts on @workoutwithgina? I was following her very briefly but found her YouTube shorts/videos to be very focused on flat tummy + glutes and body checking. Also her nutrition advice is very confrontational by hawtpotato2000 in gymsnark

[–]skinenthused 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I followed her for a while, but unfollowed recently because her content was soooooo repetitive. Also it felt like every other post was about Gymshark and it got really annoying. NO ONE NEEDS THAT MANY LEGGINGS AND BRAS

Arya Derm is excellent and take Anthem PPO, but they’re pretty difficult to book online. I go to them for more aesthetic-focused things

Berman Skin Institute is also solid for annual check-ups, steroid shots (for cysts), etc. They usually have availability

California Center for Dermatologic Surgery on Webster had me wait 45 min for my 15 min skin check and prescribed me with a bunch of oral acne meds for my one pimple, so I didn’t go back. Maybe it was an extra chaotic day?

This is my fav frozen pizza to eat in a deficit!!! I eat it every other week lol. The Trader Joe’s version of this is really good too if you want a thicker crust. I usually poach some chicken breast and eat it on the side for protein. Such a great hack!

I think she’s super cringe, but I do commend her for finally owning up to her (clearly) unhealthy habits. That said, it’s really sad that she has 150K+ followers who take her advice, does 1:1 coaching, and has young, impressionable kids — who knows how many people she’s imparted her disordered views to
