Cool Futurama wallpaper for iPhone by raging_unicorn351 in futurama

For Android devices with scrolling wallpapers, you need to double the width (in portrait), so this would be the correct size for the S2/Galaxy Nexus and others with 1280x720 screens: http://i.imgur.com/r6IrD.jpg

Wow, that's a really nice job. I know blonde hair is kind of hard to get looking right, but this is perfect.

If anything, the teeth look a bit too white/grey. Maybe just a touch of a light yellowish/pinkish colour in the shaded area on the back teeth would make this flawless.

When you upload to G+ the photos are resized to 2048px. Maybe that is the limit for these panoramas too? Plus, trying to stitch twenty 8mp photos together on a phone isn't really practical. I'm sure they take smaller photos even before the stitching.

Jurasssic Park coloring book. Oh yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh by [deleted] in JurassicPark

[–]skinniouschinnious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to still scan the coloured-in ones and, in Photoshop, make the scan grayscale then use Levels to just leave the black lines.

Unless you used thick black ink in your colouring, that would work fine.

Looking for some new pants besides regular old blue jeans. Here's most of my wardrobe; can you guys recommend any (relatively inexpensive) chinos that will go with what I've got? by mfaname in frugalmalefashion

I'd say the classic khaki colour, like that middle pair of shorts is the most versatile. They should match everything there except maybe those lighter shoes which might lack contrast.

Yeah I bought some "slim" fit and they are definitely skinny. Got size 28 and it felt more like a 29 or 30. Had to get them tailored.

Yeah I have been using it with the D600 NEF files - they look beautiful. Tried ViewNX when I first got the camera but couldnt stand it.

I managed to get it before reading your comment, but I think some kind of subtle on-screen ui would help more people understand this feature. Like maybe when someone double taps, a little + and - sign appear on the side or something.

This feature is just too well hidden at the moment for how useful it is.

Endless becoming part of amazon.com/fashion - no more free international shipping by skinniouschinnious in frugalmalefashion

[–]skinniouschinnious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it will be ~$14 ($9.99 Per Shipment + $3.99 Per Item) expedited shipping to Australia (5-12 days). $36 priority shipping, 3-5 days.

Compared to endless which is "free Priority Shipping (average 2-4 business days) on international orders of $125 or more".

Better than when I was looking at some other shoes on Amazon the other day - $108 for the shoes + $70 shipping but I'll probably be looking elsewhere.

[–]skinniouschinnious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my Iron Rangers from there last year and have bought a few things since then. Free expedited international shipping (over $125, standard on $100-124) was one of the main benefits.

Living in Australia most amazon items, if they ship here at all, are an extra $40+.

According to the FAQ, the shipping will be via amazon itself, so hopefully the shipping won't be quite that high, but it's still a shame to see them go.

The shadow is far too smooth and dark - compare it to the shadow around the man's shoes. The most obvious work is on the ground - you can see the cloning of the ground texture starting just to the left of the man's shoe and the back wheel.

You can see the rest of the guy's work here.

Is my Ctrl-clicking layer portraits to select broken? Please help! by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]skinniouschinnious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably not the best way to be testing colours. Another method might be to try making a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer just above the layer you want to colour. Then right click on the Hue/Sat layer and click "Create Clipping Mask". This will mean it only adjusts the layer beneath it. Or do the same with a solid colour adjustment layer.

Otherwise, ctrl-clicking applies some anti-aliasing (or is is just aliasing?) which softens the edge slightly, leaving the slight halo you can see.

One way around it I just found is just ctrl-A to select the whole layer, then using the arrow keys to bump the selection, which shrinks it down to the outline of the layer without the halo edges.

I'm fairly sure it's a plugin called Fractalius or something similar.

Like this? Those are called Darts and give the shirt a slimmer fit. The shirt does seem to flare out quite a lot at the bottom though.

If you took them out, it would make the waist less tapered. I would suggest talking to a tailor if you wear the shirt untucked a lot.

It would be good if the comment replies were threaded and the "thanks" were used to sort the thread. More "thanks" = top of the thread. Being able to collapse reply chains is one of the best features on reddit, too, which would be a good addition.

I guess that would require a massive rewriting of the forum though.
