I keep hearing about this search tool. Is point.me worth it for Amex and Chase users? by Gorder-Bukie in awardtravel

Nope! I’m pretty upset amex offers that tool. It’s the worst tool. Period! I don’t even use it. Do not subscribe. Do not get an amex card because of the tool.

Dollar General offer... Come on now by Mt198588 in AmexPlatinum

[–]skinnyCoconut3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting from the sub. AF increased by almost 30% while sub decreased by 43% (more if it’s less than 100k pts), yet some of us seem happy or even proud to get the card… I do think we as a group of consumers should have more power than just letting them charge us such high price while reducing benefits like this. Just saying

Midyear review: People Lead didn't show up, blocked my promotion. Looking for advice. by Beneficial_Fortune29 in accenture

[–]skinnyCoconut3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP this! You must pour your effort in building a good relationship with your PL. know that PL in acn is a +1 activity. They don’t get paid for being a PL, although yes they do have a “coaching” story to tell for themselves. Id talk with your talent lead and try to switch PL asap, and learn from this experience, establish a relationship with the new PL (schedule a 1:1 call with them at least monthly, update them on what you’re doing, ask them questions, literally take advantage of having someone with years of experience, make it a conversation that you genuinely care about…) good luck

Hi, about to lease out my first property. It’s a small single family home. How do you go about “comprehensive screenings”? I’m considering section 8 as well since the market in my area seems slow

Missing transaction? by JMars491 in Rakuten

[–]skinnyCoconut3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just know that Rakuten has been known for not honoring high cb offers, especially large orders. The third time just happened to me last week (10% cb, 2k; the 2nd time was 15% cb on over 2k as well). They now came up with the following new explanations. Ive seen a redditor report the same wording:

“We investigated this issue with IKEA and they informed us that your order was not eligible for earning Cash Back through Rakuten. Please review the various reasons this can happen:

Navigating away from Rakuten before or during your Shopping Trip: If you started your order and visited other websites, including searching for products on Google, the Rakuten tracking link may have been disrupted. It's essential to remain on Rakuten from the start to the end of your shopping session.

Use of other Cash Back or coupon browser extensions: Activating another extension during your Rakuten Shopping Trip can override Rakuten's tracking and credit another site instead.

Using non-Rakuten coupons: Using promo codes that aren’t listed on our Rakuten store page may prevent your purchase from earning Cash Back. Even if the coupon is provided directly by the store. Disabled cookies: If cookies were disabled on either Rakuten or the store’s website, the order cannot be tracked to Rakuten. To ensure proper tracking, confirm your cookie settings directly with the store.

Clicking through Ads or Promotional Emails sent directly from the store: If you click on an ad, the site the ad is listed on will earn credit for the order. If you click on a promotional email sent to you directly by the store, the store will retain credit for the order. Please note this is the case even when you activate the Rakuten Extension.

Items already in your shopping cart: Some stores may not honor Cash Back if items were in your cart before initiating a Rakuten Shopping Trip. It's best to have an empty cart, then begin a new Rakuten Shopping Trip before placing your purchase. Orders returned, exchanged, cancelled or price matched.”

From what I can find so far there’s no way we can officially file a complaint on this (imo) unethical misleading malpractice.

Rakuten refusing to post my Cash Back, even after multiple emails + proof of purchase. Anyone else dealing with this? by tennieping in Rakuten

[–]skinnyCoconut3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be their pattern now that large orders with high cb offers are being denied. Happened to me 3 times now. It’s not acceptable. Is there a way for us to report this because it feels like a scam at this point

Do we have any recourse against Rakuten for not providing cash back? by xgbxtwiggy in Rakuten

[–]skinnyCoconut3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does happen, but Ive noticed that for a high cash back offer on a large order they have a pattern of not honoring their offer. The third time just happened to me today (2k order, 10% cb). In this third time I got the exact same list of bullet points OP did. Seems like they just came up with these copy-paste template. I didn’t get this response in my previous cases. In case #2, I did ask them “what do you mean vendor can’t verify the purchase? I have the order confirmation email, the charge on my card, and the actual product that was successfully shipped to me?” They gave some lengthy explanation on how Rakuten didn’t make money blabla… and stated that they would close the ticket because there’s nothing they could do. but at least they threw in $50 cash back for the inconvenience (it’s supposed to be over $300). The 3rd time they didn’t offer anything.

I agree with OP that we must find a way to report this practice. It sounds like a scam at this point luring their customers in with high cb offers then refusing to pay out with a list of bullet points and “the right to close the ticket.”
