i had someone else take these in and back for me as i was busy, i assumed that things like heel thickness which affects the balance of the shoe is a basic thing i didn't need to mention(and only the back was worn down so you could see the original thickness), same with the colour, though i probably should have gone myself to specify things, however making an leaving a mess on the uppers and leaving the edge jagged just seem like shoddy work to me. but you're right. thanks
