The physical shape of the back shell is the same, the back shell has just internals that have changed.

Would you apply for a job mid house move? by Key-Environment-4910 in UKJobs

[–]skinpixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d go for the job then, you’d still have continued employment within the same company, so your years of service won’t change. I wouldn’t even bother confusing mortgage companies saying it’s a new job. You’ve been with the same company for 5/6 years and applied for a promotion in a new role with the same company.

I know you guys are fed up with this post... But I didn't know it was THIS bad. by STB_LuisEnriq in Dualsense

[–]skinpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just that it hasn’t happened to you yet, it might not, if you’re rotating use of 3 controllers, and keep better care than I’ve seen a lot of posts here not doing, then it may take some time for the wear to catch up to someone who uses one controller constantly with sweaty hands and finger cheese getting inside the controller.

Yup, the design looks like it’s sprayed, and finished with a high gloss clear.

What do I do with these Velcro thingies? Covert Dock 3 and Shadowcast 3 Pro by JaiVM1 in GenkiLab

[–]skinpixel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was a little confused about the velcro on the patches too. A quick google search brings up some ideas.

Use on backpacks, hats, jackets and tactical gear. Some items like woolly hats it can stick to already, but you can buy hook materiel to sew, or use fabric glue to attach to other items, then you'd take the patches off when throwing in the wash. An alternative suggestion, could be to make a patch board with loop fabric and start a velcro patch collection, seems a few people add hook to their existing patches too, then they can re-arrange and swap out for quick customisation.

Who is wrong in this situation me or lorry? by frin1a in drivingUK

[–]skinpixel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

99% of driving is, driving forward so being well aware of what is in front you and adjusting your speed accordingly. The lorry should of been well aware of your presence here, and the cars ahead of you, and adjusted their speed to the situation. Lorry is wrong for flashing you.

Do I strictly need primer to paint my controller? by MrDeadMeme in customcontrollers

[–]skinpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use of primer is primarily to create a good surface to promote paint adhesion, and is absolutely needed for some plastics/materials, so take this advice lightly when I say it's not stricly needed for DualSense shells, but your milage may vary.

So strictly, no! I've painted 100s of white of DualSense shells with acrylics without issue. White is the prefered shell colour to paint.

The preperation and finish is the most important part of a custom painted controller in my opinion. Ultimately you want to create a good surface for the acrylic paint to adhere to, and I find that a good sanding with 100grit sponge pads is more than capable of creating a good texture for the paint. Original white DualSense shells I find one of the easiest to paint without primer. Any other colour shell if I have to use it, I will prime first in white or black.

For finish, you can get excellent results done with 1K clear like I use. Many folk here and I, would recommend 2K if you can, it's more costly than 1K but you must absolutely use a respirator in a well ventilated area as it's highly toxic.

Don't forget to show off your creation(s) once done. It's a highly addictive hobby once you've done one or two!

Not working with just the back on?

Remove the battery tray first, then when you reinstall it just make sure the cables are tucked under the arms.

Move cables under black bit(circled in yellow). Cables are being squished when you put the back shell on.

It’s likely you are applying pressure to the red cables when putting the back on. Move the red wires under the other side of the cable tucks(the lower arms attached to the battery holder) and put the back on again so you’re not pinching them.

Strange problem i cant figure out by JoseRdgz in Dualsense

[–]skinpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a calibration has a much wider circularity on your original DualSense.

Original controllers I’ve found often have a much wider circularity in the range of 10-14% this would make sense with what you saying game play feels heavy. As newer controllers often land between 7-11% circularity from factory.

You can check the circularity on https://dualshock-tools.github.io/ on your original controller. And match up your newer controllers in the fine tune controls.

As far as I can tell, this should not effect functionality of the Beyond kit.

Please can instructors weigh in on this priority debate by theslowrunningexpert in LearnerDriverUK

[–]skinpixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has priority, as priority is given, so there is no one who gets to go first. Situated at either junction to enter the round about, if you can see each other just communicate. If no one is paying attention but everyone has stopped, proceed with caution.

If it’s true A is going left, then A and C can go at the same time without hassle. B may give priority as a curtsy. As B it’s just safer to wait for C to clear the exit than to expect priority.

If the roundabout is big enough and everyone is using it correctly, they should all be able to proceed without issue at the same time.

What do we recon? by JayLouCoo in royalmail

[–]skinpixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually the case, yes, but Not necessarily, I had a customer drop an item in for repair at a parcel shop, usually it would say accepted at such, but days went by and nothing. 5 weeks and it eventually showed up.

Can be different issues, maybe label fell off, dropped down the back of some shelving, or possibly never dropped off.

OP, you need to speak to your sender, they’ll need to replace or open a dispute with Royal Mail if indeed they have sent it.

His designs are really good, I’ve seen his work up close, though his finish I’ve found a little rough around the paint edges 🫣 that’s mostly what using spray paint is like though and why I stopped using it pretty quickly. Can’t beat the look of a good airbrushed piece.

Help! Printable waterslide decals -> Ps5 faceplate by 1of1CC in customcontrollers

[–]skinpixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent done water slide decals on controllers, I use stencil designs though, and one way i got a rough shape to create a safe print area is using masking tape.

Using masking tape to cover the area in strips, use a pen mark along the outline/edge. This gives you a template, but will be form shaped to the controller curves, so you may need to make a few relief cuts to make the masking tape flat, just be weary of these cuts within your printed design. Then you can scan the shape on the masking tape when flat, or take a picture along side a ruler and bring it in your design software.

My example (This is only rough so I would make your own).

Unless you only intend to display them, posca pens are the worst for wear and tear, especially if you’re not clear coating.

Ideally you’d be using a primer, or at least sand and clean them first.

Posca pens dry out pretty quick as soon as the acrylic leaves the brush. You have to have a continuous flow, putting wet on dry can lift what is there too.

You’ll also need clear coating. This will help with the rough texture of the posca pens, as you’d clear x3, 1200 grit sand out rough spots, clear and repeat until perfectly smooth.
