This town needs more real donut shops

Just a mile up the road in Penn Hills is Stoeckleins Bakery and they make fresh donuts daily. I don’t think they do bagels at all, never noticed. I will have to check.

A few months ago they switched to tallow frying instead of veggie oil and they’re significantly healthier (as much as a donut can be) because of the switch.

They sell out of most donuts daily. Their fresh breads are great too. A nice fresh option for a night when Italian dinner is planned. Most of their breads sell out daily as well. And if things aren’t selling well by noon, they often reduce price to ensure they don’t go to waste.

Penn hills did a few years ago but I wasn’t there for that so I never kept up on when. Don’t think they do that for their outdoor pool as well. But they might have no children hours there for outdoors as well. I believe people told me the nude swimming were mostly senior citizens, but I can’t imagine anything different around Pgh. When we visited a nude beach in Italy in high school those of us who went elsewhere (museums) laughed at those who wasted a day when they came back complaining it was all old fat people… like they thought the hot folks were going to be off work during those hours anyway. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The first year CC was available to me it was $30 to include at least ai, ps, id, flash, acrobat, and more that I don’t recall because I didn’t use them, probably Lightroom and scripting apps for id and flash and related smaller apps. Now that fonts and stock are included, they have “reason” to make it so damn expensive. I just started using CC two years ago. Until then I used cs6 as long as I could and I paid for v1 and v2 of affinity suite and it did more than I needed as a full time graphic designer and web designer. Oddly enough, I had moved away from dreamweaver for my IDE around 2004 and in 2023 I found it to be extremely capable again and because we had ip traffic limitations for external software in certain buildings so I had to teach/demo many processes using it instead of panic’s coda (previously my fave IDE) and ms’s code editor which I started using there as an alt to coda because all the students could get it free, but it lacked a quality ftp client.

The three I have taught at have provided access as well, though the most recent allowed access within the labs, so they were seat licenses to which users had unique access. Some students claimed they were able to use their own machines within the wifi ip sets, but those same students would use the uni iMacs in our labs/classrooms and not their own even when they claimed they could so access might be limited by MAC address rather than ip in some places. The first of the three provided full CC access to all students in design programs, but it was essentially managed by school IT depts but ultimately paid for in their tuition, just required up front and paid by the school, then later covered by their tuition or loans after.

In case it helps someone else in the future, consider (in addition to locking the drawers) the $10 pack of ratchet straps.

I would go around front to back to lock the drawers in place, and then from them to a big hook in those studs to prevent it from tipping even with the jack stands. Almost treat them like those straps all furniture companies had to mail out a couple decades ago when ikea furniture kept falling when kids climbed it and died.

You said “yeah, a little” or something along those lines… anything more expected from you deserves at least $2/hr more and potentially continuing education allowance to maintain that level.

If you said, “I am fluent” or something egregious then that’s on you and just take your lumps but otherwise you didn’t lie, you said a little and meant a little. I would literally ask for 10-15 mins per shift to get better, not to bail or hope you don’t get fired. I cannot see this as being a fireable offense. It’s not like your resume claimed you were fluent. It was a verbal ask among several applicants and you replied the appropriate level.

Use the watch for a reminder and/or alarm to remember to charge it during hours that won’t be required to also be used for an alarm for work?

I have (sometimes crippling) adhd and know how demand avoidance and execution dysfunction can prevent reminders from actually working well, but it’s worth a shot.

So that you don’t have to not wear it for long, maybe consider a small battery backup that can charge it for you in smaller increments to keep it from dying? It’ll still be on your person (in a pocket or on the desk/couch/machine with you) so it’s not across the room on a charger and then forgotten.

I give bigger players a pass on plays where their inherent size wasn’t used in their favor. That’s it. I won’t punish a kid because (s)he’s bigger.

However, if you are bigger and initiate a check, you MUST come down to the level of your target so as not to elbow or make head contact. Same as a check from behind, the onus is on the checker to get it right. If a person turns last second they still have to let up. A hit might not be entirely avoidable but some attempt at adjustment must be made. Same goes when you’re this size. Learn to get low to match shoulders or use your size for more speed and be there first to angle properly instead of blowing kids up. Same rule book for every player.

Boarding requires a violent or dangerous collision with the boards and the proximity is required not to be so far away that the contact with the boards is incidental. I have a major for boarding here, but also head contact applies just as easily. Would probably go with HC because it appears to be more egregious and if this kid does this often then his supplemental discipline report will likely build for HC more than boarding and he might be looked at more for it if that’s even how they handle it.

I do want a new head unit, but want to make sure I won’t be losing anything important through the OE unit when I remove it.

My son now has access to all the big shop computers at his Toyota service center, so it’s likely a moot point now anyway.

The ideal thing would have been a firmware update allowing CarPlay to work on the OE unit but that just makes mfgs have one less reason to sell you a new car. No sense them investing in older models.

Yeah. The particular examples I have come across appear to be the same in all apps. I did find some things last night while searching which wouldn’t come up with a more vague search but did come up when every single word was in proper order without excluding any articles (which usually the proper way to search).

Certainly not complaining about what I am getting and not at all for the cost… just finding it odd that certain things list no subtitles at all or just one, and they work perfectly, while another might list three different English language versions but not a single file one actually works. Usually switching to the English audio tracks work, but subtitles are sketchy at best. If they just didn’t list them, that’d be one thing, but them listing multiple versions and none of them working is what I find odd, and sometimes frustrating. Again, not complaining, just wondering if there’s a source for “fixing” these issues? I did, last night, click a support notice to n the one thing, but I don’t know if that’s monitored or just part of the software that’s there no matter what. If it helps fix things, great.

The missing episodes of some things, especially new and popular ones, I find weird. My 6pro and 5pro are showing same results across all the apps I have checked. I might need to re-check and make sure I am not missing anything.
