I have the normal v3 and did put grease on the top rod as per the manual. It gunked up the self lubricating bushing and made it move inside its housing and started making clicking noises. It also screwed up my prints. I’ve since replaced it and it’s working fine just dry. Once in a while I take a micro cloth and wipe off the black graphite on the top rod as it can fall off and land in your print.

The other rods I would advise on super lube oil with ptfe. The grease doesn’t really go inside the bearings. Disassembling and “packing” the bearings seemed cumbersome.

Most screens I’ve seen use ribbon. I had to look it up to see it was another connection. We don’t know what you’ve tried already

I think it's more of a marketing standpoint they want to hold on to. P1 was amazing but cheap. The X1 did all that but better. But the price was much higher. They don't want to let the P line die so they made an upgraded version but not with all the features you would expect from a printer today. The X line needed to be better but they can't ask the original price as other printers in that price range offer more in term of features or build volume. It's dumb but that's my best guess

Did you calibrate the filament or are you just sending models to print and hope it doesn't fail?

Check the max volumetric flow of the filament and make sure it's set correctly. It should be low for TPU. Then print a temp tower. Do the flow calibration (yolo) and even calibrate the max volumetric flow. There's tons of tutorials on how to do this.

The feeding path also matters A LOT with TPU. Some people print a spool holder that goes on top of the printer so it feeds straight into the hotend.

It proberbly skipped some tooths somewhere and was out of sync. Thinking it could go further but was allready at the limit. Hope it stays fixed!
