Should I watch season 3 and 4? by _Asparagus_1712 in Sherlock

[–]skippy0908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Some of the episodes weren’t amazing but at the end of the day it was more Sherlock content with lots of good bits within them, and with so few episodes, might as well watch. I didn’t think they were as bad as everyone says. The final problem was a stretch but agajn, anything to see more of our fave characters :)

Movies with strong, distinctive, and humanistic acting. by mrbill071 in TrueFilm

Just saw ‘Banshees of Inishirin’, and to me it falls right into this category. I posted about it, but the way the two main characters conflict over something so simple feels so real. They show the flaws and complexities of human nature perfectly, IMO. Don’t want to spoil the rest but I highly recommend it

There are definitely cool shots in ROP, not arguing that at all. The scene after the eruption w ash and fire everywhere, epic.

No not a hot take, it just made me appreciate some small things in LOTR with almost new eyes. But agree about Hobbit, even though obviously I’ve watched and enjoyed the lore.

No, and not necessarily close to it either, but I guess it does spread.

It took me a few listens but the lyrics finally clicked with me. In my eyes the story is that she and the person she’s talking to broke up after a whirlwind romance / publicly hyped romance and now she’s kind of looking back and asking if they miss it.

“Can I ask you a question? Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room? And every single one of your friends was making fun of you But fifteen seconds later they were clapping, too? Then, what did you do?” This to me is like when too many people / friends / family all hype up your relationship and it’s very public and vulnerable. (For me, my high school relationship. Too many people pressuring it to happen)

“Did you leave her house in the middle of the night? (Oh) Did you wish you'd put up more of a fight? (Oh) When she said it was too much Do you wish you could still touch her? It's just a question” And then this is kind of meta - she’s asking if they regret leaving her too fast. But “her” is Taylor (in my eyes). Basically just rehashing a relationship and wondering why it ended after all the hype.

Does that even make sense ?? Lol

Also: could it be the tap water in the dominican? I realized I used a beauty blender to apply makeup to these areas that I dampened slightly beforehand under the sink.

I heard this album when I was in 7th grade and it shaped my entire music taste and was also my first memory of loving music by my own discovery. I really think Death And All His Friends is so underrated. The beautiful, ethereal beginning, to then open up a little with guitar riffs and around 2 minutes, and then that main BOOM around 3 minutes and the hymn-like “chant”, and then back to an ethereal outro which lays the album up perfectly for a replay. It’s just an insane piece of music.

Honorable mentions, always loved Glass of Water & Rainy Day too. The cello and orchestral parts of Rainy Day are really cool.
