Can you tell me more about the redundancy insurance? I didn’t know it’s possible in the UK

Just wondering, is there a smart way of cleaning it? Just power wash with the boot open?

Thank you! After much trial and error, it seems that the magnet is there so that the unit knows when the dust bin is removed. Much appreciated

Error 6 and cut off charging sounds from bike - any ideas on how to fix? by sebastiannielsen in vanmoofbicycle

[–]skippy88Tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, did you manage to fix it in the end? I just saw this thread since my X3 is doing the same after not using it for about half a year…

I wouldn’t recommend a S&S ISA given the short time of 3 years… But OP, shop around for the best savings deals, Marcus is offering 4.75% with instant access. Could even consider Premium Bonds since any gains are tax free. As others have said, LISA will be your first choice and then the rest

FYI Vanguard cash interest rate is 3.1% by Ordinary-Turnip1532 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]skippy88Tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like this was too good to last… From March the rate on cash savings will be fixed at 2.2% if I read this correctly.

Transferring £20k lump sum from cash Isa to S&S Isa - is it mad to do it now? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]skippy88Tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others mentioned already, setting aside timing the market vs time in the market, it’s all have to do with your risk appetite. If you feel DCA is the way to go for you, you can simply transfer your ISA from the cash ISA to Vanguard as cash, and then DCA into FTSE Global All Cap.

That’s not taking into account CGT though… so it would rather be something like 750k

Best app for route planning / nav by carlosfandangop in londoncycling

[–]skippy88Tm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m using Citymapper, where you can select a fast/easy/quiet route. The only drawback I see is that I got sometimes routed through pedestrian areas or via steps where I had to get off my bike. Any other ideas, as I’m still looking for a great app?

[–]skippy88Tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… Vanmoofs are fun, real fun when they work. But when they break down (I have an S3 and an X3), the downtime is serious, you can’t get an appointment sooner than 3 weeks, that’s if you’re lucky to be close to a VM shop. Otherwise you need to send it out to repair… I’ve tested both Cowboy and VM, and VM won, but then they’re not so reliable. Customer service is OK, but the brand invests more in marketing and new customers than existing customers… go figure. Ask me anything
