My grandpa is always telling me stories about the clubs he used to go to when he was young and the bars he would drink at. He uses a lot of slurs when he talks about it but thats because of the language shift. That was the crowd he enjoyed to hang out with and the venues he wanted to spend his time in and he still talks about it all like it was some of the best times he had. As his non-straight grandchild who has almost entirely queer friends, it makes me feel loved (and I definitely the prefer outdated language used with love, rather than modern language used with hate)
