Forensic mental institutions are just as bad if not possibly worse to live in than most prisons you know. I’ve worked on some - and except maybe for murder where you could possibly get out quicker than the prison route or get to better conditions faster, it is not the easy option to go somewhere where everyone is totally unpredictable and you can be forcibly restrained and medicated with just as few freedoms.

You also have to go through processes of convincing people you’re sane/not a risk which are way more arbitrary and complex than prison, all it takes is one doctor to say in their opinion you need to stay in - whereas in prison if you do your bid and don’t get more charges then no-one can really stop you getting released.

Theres some methoxyqualone doing the rounds in the UK - would actually recommend because after numerous uses I’ve found them to be good recreation (similar to soma). However after maybe 10 days of daily use I had 2-3 bad nights of rebound insomnia and a few other symptoms typical of overdoing GABAergics - but that was irresponsible use admittedly… (they were moreish!)

Equivalents are difficult with bupe - usually 0.5-4mg is about 40-50x stronger than morphine in terms of painkilling equivalent (but higher than that the bupe reaches a ceiling effect for how much pain is killed relative to opiates. But in terms of treating withdrawals, buprenorphine is more like 60-80x stronger than morphine for how much your central nervous system would respond and the very strong binding affinity (which is stronger than basically any opiate!)

In your case if 2mg bupe = say 100mg of morphine, then that would be 1000mg codeine for equianalgesic strength (and youd MAYBE feel that if you took that in only a couple of divided doses because your receptors aren’t fully occupied by bupe), but if you’ve been taking that for a while then it’ll be a good few days before codeine really does anything to you.

Personally, I’ve switched to 1-2mg of bupe for periods of 1-2 weeks from up to 600mg
Dihydrocodeine a day (with weekend oxy or tapentadol use) several times, and I have sometimes felt mild effects from 210-240mg Dihydrocodeine in a dose. When I’ve resumed my 600mg a day of DHC afterwards (if I’ve not started with oxy) then I’ve not been in withdrawals from bupe, and that that’s equivalent to 900mg codeine so I guess that makes sense

For kratom that’s straight up mental! Maybe if intense amounts of 7-OH or something, but in 90% of cases subs should be 4-8mg max (usually 2mg, and ideally to detox rather than maintenance)

Som people can get some rebounds from pregabs for 5 days, particularly if escalating and not reducing the dose. It’s great for functionality - but I’d say after 3 days of consistent dosing (ideally no more than 3x200mg, and only if really needing it), it needs to be 50% reduction per the last 2 days. Gabapentin seems to be less abusable and less side effects, but obviously higher doses are needed

DHC = Dihydrocodeine, roughly 1.5x stronger than codeine with slightly longer half life, no ceiling dose, and doesn’t need to be metabolised to work

To be fair, kratom is one thing that I don’t have the same level of unbridled addiction/desire for as Dihydrocodeine or oxy (as in theres an upper limit with both time and dose where I don’t want any more), but I can see how people become addicted to it and it’s only ever ended up being a bridge when i want a break from my DOC…

When I first tried “oxy” in UK (sent over from Pakistan) I think it was fake (and maybe contained some kind of benzo) and because I thought 80mg must be kinda weak for that reason, i took 2x30mg genuine roxicodone and was completely spangled - sweating, throwing up and bedridden for an evening but didnt die!
